List of  PSU organisations recruiting through GATE 2013 which I am maintaining is getting longer - Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has also issued recruitment notification 2013 for 150 Graduate Probationary Engineers based on GATE 2013. Name of the other nine PSU organisations recruiting through GATE 2013 are: HPCL, GAIL, Power Grid, BPCL, MECL, BHEL, DDA, NTPC, & IOCL.

BEL job notification is for 150 Graduate Engineers from the engineering disciplines of Electronics, Mechanical & Computer Science.

What are the eligibility and how to apply for these engineer positions in BEL? This is the subject matter of current blog article by quoting the relevant information from the above notification. What is BEL (Bharat Electronics Limited)?
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is one of the 16 Navratna PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) in India. It primarily manufactures advanced electronic products for the Indian Armed Forces through its nine factories located in Bangalore, Panchkula, Kotdwara, Ghaziabad, Pune, Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, Machilipatnam & Chennai.

Not only does it produces products for the defence forces, but it also produces products which are used by common public - such as Electronic Voting Machines ("EVM") .

BEL Engineer Recruitment process:

Subsequent to your online submission of application forms BEL Engineer  Recruitment 2013 and after GATE 2013 result is declared, BEL is going to obtain your GATE 2013 scores and shortlist the candidates for  BEL GD & Interview. After this final merit list would be prepared.

Branch-wise BEL Engineer vacancies for 2013:

A total of 150 Engineer vacancies exists: Electronics: 80, Mechanical: 25 & Computer Science: 45.

GATE 2013 papers for BEL Engineer  Recruitment 2013:

As above graduate engineer recruitment is going to be from the engineering disciplines of Electronics, Mechanical & Computer Science, you have to appear in GATE 2013 papers of EC, ME & CS respectively.

BEL Engineer Salary:

Salaries offered by BEL for Engineer is in pay scale of Rs.16400-3%-40500/- in E-II grade.
This is apart from other benefits like: DA, HRA, Conveyance Allowance, Performance Related Pay, Medical Reimbursement etc.

Eligibility for BEL Engineer:

Age Eligibility: (as on 01.06.2013)

Maximum 25 years
Age relaxations exists for reserved categories.

Final year students can also apply provided you can submit your final mark sheet by 31st  August, 2013.

Academic Qualification Eligibility:

First Class Bachelor’s degree in Engineering /Technology from following disciplines:

a) Electronics & Communication Engineering.
b) Mechanical Engineering.
c) Computer Science & Information Technology.
Candidates with AMIE / AMIETE in above specializations should also have secured first class.

For SC/ST/PWD candidates only pass mark is sufficient.

How to apply for BEL Engineer Recruitment 2013: Online Form

There is no offline form for BEL Engineer Recruitment 2013. You have to apply online only.
You have to register (i.e. apply) actually twice for BEL Engineer positions- Once for GATE & than for BEL.

First you have to apply online for GATE 2013.

Last date for applying online for GATE 2013 is 30th September, 2012. So better hurry!

Subsequent to your online registration for GATE 2013, you would be able to download the GATE 2013 Admit card from 5th December, 2012 onwards.  You than have to use the "GATE-2013 Registration Number" as given in the admit card to register online for BEL.

The BEL Engineer Recruitment 2013 Online form would be available from 28th December 2012 in this BEL Career website. Last date for submission of  BEL application form is 14th February 2013.

IMPORTANT DATES for BEL Engineer Recruitment 2013:

Start date for online registration for GATE 2013: 01.09.2012.
Last date of online registration for GATE 2013: 30..09.2012..

Date of availability of GATE 2013 Admit Card (hence GATE-2013 Registration Number): 05.12.2012.

Online registration for BEL Engineer  Recruitment 2013 starts: 28th December 2012.

Last date for submission of  form for BEL Engineer  Recruitment 2013: 14th February 2013.


GATE-2013 Online examination: 20th January 2013 (Sunday)
GATE-2013 Offline examination: 10th February 2013 (Sunday)
GATE-2013 result date:15th March, 2013 (Friday).

BEL Engineer Recruitment 2013 GD/Interview Dates:

BEL notification is silent about the date on which GD/Interview would be held, as they would shortlist the candidates only after GATE 2013 result is declared on 15th March, 2013. Therefore, you can expect the call letter only after this date – may be in the last week of March or first week of April, 2013.
