This blog post is being made on the eve of Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) 2015. It tells you how many seats are there for each branches of engineering for both the VIT campuses at Vellore and Chennai and also the Cut-Off marks for each branches, based on rank. Point to note here is these data has been compiled from previous years exam data and with a purpose to give you some indications on what can be these figures for VITEEE 2015.

Thus there are close to 5000 seats for both the campuses of VIT combined. These figures have been taken from last years VITEEE data.
VITEE 2015 Branch-wise Cut-Off Marks:

It is need-less to say that these are not official figures - as these are never released by VIT. But above info tells you what should be your targets. As you must be knowing already - there are 120 questions for 120 total marks in VITEEE. Therefore if you can answer 70% questions (i.e. around 84 marks) correctly, you would have a strong chance of getting inside VIT through VITEEE 2015.
But what you must be aware is: there is a huge number of candidates who appear in VITEEE every year. In VITEEE 2014, 1.93 lakhs had appeared in the exam. In the previous two years, number of candidates were 2013: 1.66 lakhs and 2012: 1.50 lakhs. Thus only about 3 candidates per hundred gets selected in this exam! The acceptance rate is very low.
