Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 2013 exam is scheduled to be held on 27th October 2013 and this article is therefore being posted to help you prepare for the exam. It intends to provide you the Prep Materials for KVPY 2013 exam - begins with a discussion on KVPY Exam pattern and than points you to to the previous years exam Papers & Prep Books for the same.

Without wasting time further, let us know what is the pattern/format of KVPY Exam.

KVPY Exam 2013 Pattern/Format:

As you might have found in my previous article, KVPY Scholarship Exam is conducted for three level of students:

1.0 For Class XI students: KVPY- SA.

2.0 For Class XII students: KVPY- SX.

3.0 For 1st year Students of B. Sc. /B.S. / Integrated M.Sc. /M.S: KVPY- SB. 

Exam Pattern of KVPY- SA:

For Class XI students, KVPY-SA Exam is held. It has a single paper, which is divided into two parts. Each part contains MCQ from Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Biology. You can find the number of questions and marks in each subject of both parts of KVPY-SA Exam in the table at right.

As you can find from this exam pattern KVPY-SA Exam, there are a total of 80 questions of total 100 marks. Duration of KVPY-SA Exam is 3 hours.

There is negative marking in KVPY-SA Exam: 1/4th mark for each wrong answer.

Exam Pattern of KVPY- SX & SB:

There are two parts in KVPY-SX & SB Exam too. But here you have to answer any three subject in Part-1 and and two subject in Part-2. 

Thus the total marks is 100 (Part-1: 3x20 + Part-2: 2x20). Duration is 3 hours.

There is negative marking in KVPY-SX & SB Exam: 1/4th mark for each wrong answer (i.e. minus 0.25 mark in Part-1 & 0.5 mark in Part-2)

KVPY Exam 2013 Syllabus:

KVPY has not prescribed any official Syllabus for KVPY 2013 Exam - as can be expected in any national level competitive exam. If at all you need some syllabus to prepare for KVPY 2013, you can refer to CBSE syllabus for these classes.

KVPY Exam Prep Books:

If you have gone through the class text books thoroughly, there is no need for additional prep books for KVPY exam. But however, if you insist on preparing for  KVPY exam subject-wise, you can refer to following books.
