Assam Police Constable Vacancy 2015:
This recruitment is being held district-wise and hence you have to also apply district-wise. The important point to remember while applying is: you should not apply for more than one district. Assam Police Constable Salary:
The salary offered for these constable position is in the Pay Band Rs. 5200-20,200/-, Grade pay Rs. 2200/-per month, plus other allowance.
Eligibility for Assam Police Constable Posts:
To take part in this recruitment, you have to posses following eligibility:
Age: 18 to 25 years as on 1st January of 2014 (DOB on or before 01.01.1996 and after 01.01.1989).
Academic Qualification:
Class 10 passed from a recognized Board.
Physical standards:
Height (Minimum):
Gen/OBC/MOBC/SC: Male: 162.56 cm; Female: 154.94 cm
ST(H)/ ST(P): Male: 160.02 cm; Female: 152.40 cm
Chest (Only for men):
Gen/OBC/SC/ST(P): Normal: 80 cm, Expanded: 85 cm
ST(H): Normal: 78 cm, Expanded: 83 cm
Medical standards:
Candidates must not have knocked knee, flat foot or squint in eyes, and they should possess high colour vision. Varicose vein shall be considered a temporary disqualification. They must be in good mental and bodily health. They must be free from any physical deformities and free from diseases such as diabetes, hernia, piles, respiratory diseases or any other ailment that is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
Selection Process for Constables in Assam Police Recruitment 2015:
There are three stages in this selection process as given below:
1.0 Physical Standards Tests (PST): Qualifying - you must posses the Physical standards given above.
2.0 Physical Efficiency Tests (PET): of 60 marks - 1600 Meters Race (For female: 1200 Meters), 100 Meters Sprint (For female: 80 Meters), Long Jump & High Jump.
3.0 Written Test: of 25 marks.
Written Test would be held only for those who obtain the qualifying marks in PST & PET.
In addition to above, Extra-curricular activities and special skills will consist of 15 marks. This 15 marks are divided as below:
1. Educational Qualification : Max marks 5
2. NCC/Home Guard/ Sports : Max marks 5
3. Diploma/Technical qualification from ITI/Polytechnic or other recognized Institute, or in Computer Application from a recognized/ accredited Institute: Max marks 5
Thus, Final merit list would be prepared based on 100 marks with mark distribution as below:
a) Marks awarded in PET - Maximum marks 60.
b) Multiple choice objective type Written Test: Maximum marks 25.
c) Extra-curricular activities and special skills: Maximum marks 15.
