Airports Authority of India (AAI), which came into existence on 1st April, 1995 by merging erstwhile National Airports Authority and International Airports Authority of India, is responsible for creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing Civil Aviation infrastructure both on the ground and air space in the country.
More about this organisation can be found in this about us page of AAI.
AAI is in rapid expansion mode and hence had recently brought out notification for recruitment of Junior Executives for its Electronics & ATC (Air Traffic Controller) positions. You can find detailed discussions on AAI ATC Recruitment in my blog post titled: AAI Recruitment 2012 (Junior Executive) Notification, Eligibility & Forms.
The selection would be made on the basis of a written test and interview.
Also for Jr. Executive (ATC), there would be a Voice test (not required for Jr. Executive (Electronics).
After this notification came out, there were a number of request from the applicants of AAI exam for the syllabus, model papers/study materials of this AAI exam. Two of the requests is reproduced below:

AAI notification had been very vague on the pattern of AAI written exam – it just merely says there would be a Written test and does not specifies what papers are going to be set. Also, syllabus is not specified for AAI exam – it is to be expected as most of the commercial organizations do not set syllabus for their recruitment exams.
Also, there is no information available on the net for AAI exam papers.
In absence of concrete information, let me try to give you at least some directions for preparation of the AAI exam.
At first, let me tell you that pattern of exams should not be much difference between the AAI exam pattern for Jr. Executive (Electronics) & the AAI exam pattern for Jr. Executive (ATC) – why? Because, if you see the qualifications required – it is identical for both. Only Jr. Executive (ATC) would have an additional test –“Voice test”.
So while searching on the net for your study materials for AAI exam, I chanced upon this Air Traffic Controllers' Guild (India) website where the pattern of exam for ATC is given as below:
Written examination comprises of following 4 papers:Elective Paper from Concerned Engineering Branch
General English
General Knowledge
Mental Ability (Numerical/Logic based)
Apart from the Elective Paper from Concerned Engineering Branch, I would love to point you to my previous blog post on SBI Bank PO exam, which has similar sections and hence some sample papers.
For those applying for Jr. Executive (ATC), may be you would love to take this ATC Guild quiz – you need to register in a short user details form.
