This article presents you to the Notification and points yo to the Online Application Form for RRB Junior Engineer Recruitment 2014

This blog post helps you apply for RRB JE Exam 2014 by encapsulating the relevant information on Eligibility and Online form from the notification. In a follow-up article titled: RRB JE Exam 2014 Syllabus, Pattern, Papers and Books, I would provide you the study materials to prepare for the written exam.

But before going further, a small note on what is RRB.
What is RRB:
Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), as the name suggests, are the organisations which recruits the Group-C jobs in Indian railways. There are twenty one RRB in India, which takes care of recruitment for 17 railway zones. Group-C railway recruitment is done at zonal level by RRBs. RRBs have an apex body at the top called Railway Recruitment Control Board (RRCB).
Example of Group-C posts:
Ticket Examiner, Trains Clerk, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk, Ticket Collector Junior Accounts Assistant, Commercial Clerk, Account Clerk cum Typist, Assistant Loco Pilot, Junior Stenographer, Technician, Senior Permanent Way Supervisor, Signal Interlocking Maintainer, Staff Nurse, Radiographer, Pharmacist, Health and Malaria Inspector, Depot Material Superintendent, Telecommunication Maintainer, Enquiry-cum- Reservation Clerk, Assistant Station Master, Goods Guard, Traffic Apprentice, Commercial Apprentice, Senior Permanent Way Supervisor, Junior Engineer, Section Engineer, etc.
Pay-scale for different posts in Group-C railway jobs:
PB-2 (Rs.9300-34800); Grade Pay Rs.4600 and Rs.4200
PB-1 (Rs.5200-20200); Grade pay Rs.2800, Rs.2400, Rs.2000, Rs.1900 and Rs.1800.

RRB Junior Engineer Vacancy 2014:
There are a total of 4125 Junior Engineer (JE) posts. You can find the RRB-wise, category-wise vacancy in the table at right. These JE posts also includes the post of "Depot Material Superintendent" in some RRB, which can be found in the notification.
Point to note here is: You can apply for these Junior Engineer jobs against a particular RRB only. You have to choose this RRB in the first step of filling the online form.
Salary for Junior Engineer (JE):
Salary offered by Indian Railway for Junior Engineer (JE) is in Pay-Band-2 :Rs. 9300-34800; Grade Pay Rs. 4200.
With above pay-scale, the salary is approx. Rs. 30,000/= per month.
Selection Process for RRB Junior Engineer (JE):
The Selection Process consists of a written exam - RRB JE Exam 2014, to be conducted on 14th December, 2014.

Eligibility for Junior Engineer (JE):
Age : (as on 01.01.2015)
Min: 18 years, Max: 33 years.
Age relaxations for upper age exists for reserved categories.
Academic Qualification Eligibility:
You need to posses Diploma in relevant disciplines as given in page 7-13 of the notification.
Disciplines are: Diploma in Civil Engineering/ Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Information Technology / Communication Engineering.
For the post of Depot Material Superintend: Diploma in Engineering in any discipline is required.
For the post of Depot Material Superintend: Diploma in Engineering in any discipline is required.
RRB Junior Engineer Recruitment 2014 Online Form:
For these Junior Engineer (JE) posts in RRBs, you have to apply through Online Application Form only. There is no offline form.
