Preparation materials on the net for the CRPF ASI/ Head Constable Examination is very less – almost non-existent. However, I would try to point you to the sources of whatever study materials I could find, so that you can prepare for this exam.
At first, let us find what is the pattern/scheme of CRPF Asst. SI/ Head Constable Exami.
CRPF Asst. SI/ Head Constable Exam Pattern:
The selection process for CRPF ASI/HC recruitment consists of two stages:
First stage consists of:
i) Checking documents
ii) Physical Measurements.
iii) Written examinations.
Documents as given in section “9. CHECKING DOCUMENTS” of page-4 in the Notification is checked as well as Physical Measurements are taken to ascertain whether you meet the “Physical standard eligibility” as given in section “4. PHYSICAL STANDARD” in page-2/3 of the Notification.
If you meet these eligibilities, you would be allowed to appear in the CRPF written exam.
Second stage consists of:
i) Typing Speed test (Only on Computer)
ii) Short hand speed test (Only for ASI/Steno)
iii) Checking of documents
iv) Interview.
v) Medical examination.
On qualifying the Stage-1 selection process, you would be shortlisted for the skill tests (Typing Speed test & Short hand speed test). If you can qualify these tests, you would be called for Interview. If you are finally selected, medical examinations are done.
Stage-1: CRPF Recruitment Written Exam Pattern:
The written exam of the CRPF ASI/HC recruitment consists of a single question paper of following four parts, each part having 50 Objective type questions with 1 mark for each question:
Part -I: Hindi/English Language: 50 questions,
Part -II: General Intelligence: 50 questions,
Part-III: Numerical Aptitude: 50 questions,
Part-IV: Clerical Aptitude: 50 questions,
Thus there are a total of 200 questions with 200 total marks to be answered in two hours. Cut-off (i.e. qualifying) mark for this CRPF exam is 80 (i.e. 40% of 200 marks) for General category candidates and 70 (i.e. 35% of 200 marks) for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.
Stage-2: CRPF Skill test pattern for ASI/HC:
What skills are tested in CRPF ASI/HC recruitment exam? Following two:
1) For Assistant Sub-Inspector (Steno):
Dictation: 10 mts @ 80 wpm, Transcription: 50 mts(English), 65 mts (Hindi)
2) For Head Constable (Min):
Typing on computer – 35 wpm in English (30 wpm for SC/ST) or 30 wpm in Hindi.
Sample Papers for CRPF Recruitment Exam:
The four test sections in CRPF ASI/HC written exam is very similar to Bank Clerks exam s. Even the age eligibility (18-25 years in CRPF exam, 18-28 in the bank exam) and the academic eligibility for both exams are same – Class-XII pass in CRPF exam and Class-XII pass with 50%marks in the bank clerk exam. Hence you can use the sample papers for bank clerical/PO exams as prep material for CRPF ASI/HC written exam too.
