AIBE Exam 2015 Date, Notification & Application Form

This article tells you what is AIBE and how to apply for it. It provides you the AIBE Exam 2015 Date & Application Form, along with the Eligibility required for All India Bar Exam.

Bar Council of India has recently brought out the AIBE Exam 2015 Notification for the 9th edition of All India Bar Examination. The AIBE Exam 2015 Dates for both the exam as well as for submission of Application Form has also been announced. The exam is scheduled to be held on 13th December 2015. The Online application form  is available from 2nd September 2015 while the Offline form is on sale from 4th September 2015. Last date of submission of the form is 16th November (Online) and 18th November  (Offline). What is AIBE and how to apply for it? What is All India Bar Examination? 
Since from academic year 2009-2010, if you are an Ll.B, you CAN enrol as an advocate but CAN NOT practice law till you clear the AIBE (All India Bar Examination).

AIBE conducted by Bar Council of India is a qualifying test for becoming a practising lawyer. AIBE was launched primarily to address the inadequate quality of legal education in India. Number of Lawyers in India as per BCI website is 11 lakh and every year 60,000 gets added as fresh lawyers. BCI feels there should be an entry-level assessment for fresh lawyers to enhance the quality of the bar and therefore and AIBE is being conducted.

AIBE tests an advocate’s ability to practice the profession of law in India – it tests candidate’s analytical abilities and basic knowledge of law. AIBE December 2015 is the 9th time this exam is being organised by BCI..

Success Rate in AIBE:

Legally India along with Mint has published the figures of the number of candidates appearing in the last three AIBE exam along with number of candidates who passed AIBE. You can see the pass percentage of last three AIBE  in the table at left. For more info you can visit this page.

As you can see, pass percentage of  AIBE is on an decreasing trend - from 71% to 63% . This may be due to more number of candidates appearing in AIBE these days.

Eligibility for All India Bar Examination:
Minimum eligibility for appearing in AIBE is as follows:
1.0 You need to have passed LL B exam.
2.0 You need to have enrolled as an advocate with any State Bar Council.

Bank Payments through challan starts from: 4th September 2015

Last Date of forms:
Online Registration and offline form sales closes: 12th November 2015
Last Date for Payment of challan for Online and Offline Application: 13th November 2015
Last date for completion of online form: 16th November 2015
Last date for receiving Offline Application forms at BCI-Delhi: 18th November 2015 (5 P.M)
