Before going further, let us know how IBPS calculates the score for IBPS CWE PO.
How IBPS CWE PO Scores are calculated:
1.0 First IBPS finds the Corrected Score:
Say out of 200 questions in IBPS CWE PO, you answered 100 questions correctly, 50 questions in-correctly and did not attempt 50 questions.
With this, your Corrected Score in this exam would be as follows:
Marks for correct answers: 100 x 1 = 100 marks.
Marks for wrong answers: 50 x 0.25 = -12.5 marks.
Marks for no answers: 50 x 0 = 0 marks.
Your Corrected Score: 100-12.5+0= 87.5 marks.
This is done for each of the five individual objective test.
2.0 IBPS than converts the Corrected Score to the Equated Scores:
All the CWE PO question papers set by IBPS are not identical - it makes different question sets so as to prevent use of unfair means by the candidates. Now one set of question paper (Say TEST FORM "A") may be more difficult compared to another (Say TEST FORM "B"). A candidate appearing with TEST FORM "A" may therefore may be scoring less than another candidate appearing with TEST FORM "B". Therefore, IBPS find the distribution of scores of all the forms and converts the Corrected Score to the Equated Score accordingly.
If you want to know more about "Equated Scores", please go through this Equated Scores article on Wiki. But do not take the trouble to do so, as the difference between the Corrected Score and the Equated Score is not much.
3.0 The score in each test thus obtained is rounded off to the nearest integer to arrive at the Final IBPS CWE PO scores.
Total Online Examination Score = Scores obtained in Quantitative Aptitude + Reasoning+ English Language + Computer Knowledge + General Awareness.
