Syndicate Bank intends to recruit 400 Probationary Officers (PO) after selecting them for a one year full-time PG Diploma (PGD) course in Banking and Finance (B&F) at Manipal University and NITTE University. The Eligibility required is 60% in graduation in any stream and age within 30 years. If you are in search of a career in bank – this is one very good opportunity.

What is Syndicate Bank PGD PO Program
As you find above, this is not a Direct PO recruitment program but is a Study-than-Work program. It means you are actually selected for a 1-year training program, on successful completion of which you are absorbed as a Probationary Officer in Syndicate Bank.
This 1 year program is split into two parts: nine months class room training (either at at Manipal University, Bangalore or at NITTE University, Greater Noida) and than three month internship in a Syndicate Bank branch. During first 9 months the students are offered stipend of Rs, 2500/=, which is increased toRs 10000/- pm in the subsequent three months of internship.
But this training program is not free - the cost is Rs. 3.50/- lakhs (all inclusive: boarding, Lodging and course fees etc.) plus service taxes. To meet this cost, you can take Education Loan from Syndicate Bank, EMI of which would start only after the 1-year training period and that too, spread over 84 months (7 years) so that EMI is less. On the other hand, when you join as a PO in Syndicate bank after successful completion of the training and subsequent completion of five years of satisfactory service in the bank, you are offered loyalty bonus of Rs 1 lakh per year for five years.

The Probationary Officers are selected based on an Online test followed by Group Discussion and Interview. Syndicate Bank PGD PO Online Exam consists of a 200 question, 200 marks paper, which has to be answered in 2 hours.
