Indian Navy has published the Advertisement/ Notification for Sailor SSR (Senior Secondary Recruits) Recruitment 2014. This job avenue in Indian Navy enables you to join as a sailor and you can rise upto the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I (equivalent to Subedar Major). Qualification required is Class-12 pass only. Submission of application form has already started and last date to fill the online application form is 7th December, 2014.

But first what is the Indian Navy Sailor SSR Recruitment:
It is one of the Sailor recruitment process by Indian Navy through which it recruits persons with minimum
Class-XII (Senior Secondary) qualification. Since the qualification required is Senior Secondary, it is called as Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR). The training for this recruitment is going to commence in August 2015.During the training period you are offered stipend of Rs. 5700/= per month and are also given books, reading material, uniform, food and accommodation etc free of cost. On completion of training, sailors are offered salary in pay scale of Rs. 5200-20200 plus Grade Pay @ Rs. 2000/- Plus MSP @Rs. 2000/= plus DA.
Eligibility for Indian Navy Sailor SSR Recruitment:
Age: Your Date of Birth should be between 1st August 1994 to 31st July 1998 (Both dates inclusive).
Educational Qualifications: You should have passed Class-12 with Maths & Physics and at least one of these subjects; Chemistry/Biology/Computer science.
On top of above eligibilities, you should also meet following minimum medical standards:
1.0 Minimum height 157 cms.
2.0 Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms. Weight and Chest should be proportionate.
3.0 Visual Standards: Without glass: Better eye: 6/6 and Worse eye: 6/9. With glass: Better eye: 6/6 and Worse eye: 6/6
4.0 Must be in good physical and mental health, free from any defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties both ashore and afloat.
Selection Process for Indian Navy Sailor SSR Recruitment:
The selection process consists of a Written Test, Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in the Medical Examinations. The one hour written exam comprises of four sections i.e. English, Science, Maths and GK.
The Physical Fitness Test (PFT). PFT consist of 1 .6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups.

You have to apply only online for this recruitment. There is no manual (i.e. physical copy) application form.

Last date of receipt of print out copy of the application form with required docs is 14th December, 2014 (for remote areas 21st December, 2014).
