IOCL has already published the advertisement for recruitment of Graduate Engineers and Post Graduates in Geology & Geophysics as Engineers/Officers. This recruitment would be based on GATE-2015. Online form to apply for these IOCL jobs would be available from 17th December, 2014 and 21st February, 2015 would be the last date for submission of forms.

In fact IOCL was the first PSU who pioneered recruitment through GATE, since from 2010. It was followed two years later by National Thermal Power Corporation, Bharat Heavy Electricals, Bharat Electronics & PowerGrid Corporation of India. Source: Wiki
The list of PSU recruiting through GATE is increasing every year and on my last count, I found 12 PSU have so far offered jobs through GATE 2015. This blog post has been made exclusively to discuss about IOCL job offer through GATE 2015 – by touching upon the important aspect on Eligibility required, Date schedule of selection process of IOCL.
Selection process for IOCL Recruitment through GATE 2015:
The selection would be based on GATE 2015 score and Group Discussion (GD) & Personal Interviews (PI) conducted by IOCL. But IOCL has not specified the weigtage of marks for this selection process i.e. how much of mark would be kept for GATE 2015 score and how much for GD/PI.
ONGC on the other hand has given this weightages exclusively.
IOCL GATE 2015 Recruitment Eligibility:
Age Eligibility: (on 30th June, 2015)
For Engineering Discipline: Max 26 years
For Geology & Geophysics: Max 28 years
Relaxations exist for OBC/SC/ST/PWD candidates as per Govt. rule. (OBC: 3 years, SC/ST: 5 years and PWD: 10 years).
Educational Qualification Eligibility:
Minimum 65% marks in bachelor’s degree for engineering/technology and 65% marks in PG-degree (M. Sc/ M. Tech or equivalent degree) for Geology & Geophysics. Above %age of marks is relaxed to 55% for SC/ST/PWD category candidates.
Final year students can also apply but you have to submit your final mark sheet by 31st August, 2015.
Qualifying disciplines for IOCL GATE 2015 Recruitment:
There are 10 disciplines (9 Engineering disciplines and Geology & Geophysics) in which you must have obtained your qualifications as given above. The list of these qualifying disciplines can be found in section: “1. Eligible Disciplines” in page: 1-2 of the notification.
GATE 2015 Papers for IOCL Recruitment:
You have to appear in following subject papers in GATE 2015 for these IOCL Engineers/Officer jobs, corresponding to your qualification:
CH, CE, CS, EE, EC, IN, ME, MT, MN, GG.
IOC Salary for Engineers/Officer jobs :
Salary offered by IOCL is in Pay-Scale of Rs. 24,900 - 50,500/= with other benefits.
With this, Gross salary per month is approx. Rs. 90,000/= . The Cost-to-Company (CTC), is about Rs 11.00 lakhs per annum inclusive of performance related pay (PRP). This is just an approx. figure and the amount depends on the location and the department in which the Engineers/Officer are posted.

GATE 2015 Online Exam: 31st January, 1st, 7th, 8th and 14th February, 2015
Date of GATE 2015 Results: 12th March 2015 (17:00 Hrs)
Date for submission of IOCL Online form: 17th December, 2014 to 21st February, 2015
Date of IOCL Interview 2015: It has not been declared so far but should be sometime in April/May, 2015.
