Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), also called as "Namma Metro", has last week published Recruitment Notification 2014 for a total of 480 vacancies: 350 posts of Maintainer & 130 posts of Train Operator. Selection process for these Train Operator/ Maintainer consists of a written exam – BMRC Exam 2014, to be held on 23rd November 2014 (Sunday). Submission of form has already started and last date to submit the form for BMRC Exam 2014 is 13th October, 2014. But there is a pre-requisite to appear in this exam: you should be proficient in Kannada language – i.e. should be able to Read, Speak, Understand and Write in Kannada.

What is BMRCL
BMRCL is a joint venture of Govt. of India and Govt. of Karnataka. The project has an East-West corridor - 18.10 km long, starting from Baiyappanahalli in the East and terminating at Mysore Road terminal in the West and a 24.20 km North-South corridor commencing at Nagasandra in the North and terminating at Puttenahalli in the South.

As you can see above, there is a good chance for women candidates – almost a third of total vacancy is reserved for them.
Eligibility for BMRCL Recruitment 2014
Age Limit: (as on 30.6.2014)
Maximum age: for General category is 35 years and for SC/ST/ Cat I candidates: 40 years.

Academic Qualification Eligibility:
Educational qualification required for Maintainer in BMRCL:
Matriculation plus two years ITI in any one of the following specific Engineering Trade:
Electrician / Instrument Mechanic / Mechanic Radio and TV / Electronics Mechanics / Wireman / Fitter / Mechanic Computer Hardware / Mechanic – Industrial Electronics / Information Technology & Electronics System Maintenance / Mech. Communication Equipment Maintenance, Masonry, Carpentry, Building. Refrigeration and AC Mechanics Mechanic Mechatronics or equivalent qualification.
The ITI Certificate should be recognised by NCVT / SCVT.
Educational qualification required for Train Operator in BMRCL:
Matriculation plus three years Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
/ Telecommunications / Electronics & Communication Engineering / Electrical power Systems / Industrial Electronics / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
The Diploma should be from an Institute/ organisation recognised by AICTE.
Additional Qualification Eligibility:
Knowledge of Kannada is a must.
The candidate should be able to Read, Speak, Understand and Write in Kannada.
Salary:
Salary offered by BMRCL for these positions in IDA scale is as below:
Maintainer: Rs. 10170 – 18500/=
Train Operator: Rs. 14000 -26950/=
BMRCL Recruitment 2014 Selection Process:
