Notification has been published just yesterday by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for recruitment of 506 Bank Assistants. While the submission of form has started from yesterday, last date of online registration for RBI Assistant Recruitment 2014 is 6th August. RBI is the central bank of India, established on April 1, 1935 through Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. Although initially privately owned, the RBI has been fully owned by the Government of India since nationalization in 1949.
The Preamble of the Reserve Bank of India describes the basic functions of the Reserve Bank as to regulate the issue of Bank Notes and keeping of reserves with a view to securing monetary stability in India and generally to operate the currency and credit system of the country to its advantage.
It has 19 regional offices, most of them in state capitals.

Gross salary being offered by RBI for Assistant job is approximately Rs. 22,732/-per month, apart from other perquisites. The basic pay is Rs. 8,860/- p.m. in the pay-scale of Rs.8,040 – 410 – 9270 – 500 – 11,270 –550 – 13,470 – 650 – 15,420 – 720 – 16,140 – 990 – 20,100.
Eligibility required for RBI Assistants:
Age eligibility: Min: 18 yrs, Max: 28 yrs as on 01.07.2014.
DOB should not be earlier than 02/07/1986 and not later than 01/07/1996 (both days including)
Age relaxations exist for SC/ST/OBC candidates as well as for candidates with higher qualifications/experience. Refer section: 4 (a) Age of the RBI job notification.
Educational qualification requirement: (as on 06-08-2014)
Minimum 50% aggregate marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD) in the Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline and the knowledge of word processing on PC.

Selection process for RBI Assistants:
The selection process consists of a Written Exam followed by Interview. The written exam is of 200 marks, consisting of five test sections, each worth 40 marks: Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge. You have to download the call letter for the written exam which should be available in this website. The date for downloading the Call letter/Admit Card would be sent to your e-mail as well as SMS. So keep checking your mail box nearer exam time.
