SSC conducts the Junior Engineers (Civil & Electrical) exam every year in the month of April/May and this year too, Notification for SSC JE Exam 2014 is likely to come out on 22nd February, 2014 and the exam is scheduled to be held on 25th May, 2014. Last date to submit the Online Application Form for this exam is 21st March, 2014.

At first, let us begin that by knowing what is SSC JE Exam.
What is SSC JE Exam:
Staff Selection Commission is a cousin of UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and it conducts various recruitment exams for Group “B” & “C” posts in the various Ministries/Departments of Govt. of India and the attached/subordinate offices.
SSC conducts the Junior Engineers (Civil & Electrical) exam every year in the month of April/May for recruitment of Junior Engineers in for four departments: CPWD (Central Public Works Department), MES (Military Engineer Services), Central Water Commission (CWC) and Department of Posts.
SSC JE Salary:
Salary being offered for these Junior Engineer positions is Rs.9300-34800 plus grade pay of Rs.4200.
SSC JE Exam 2014 Vacancy:
However you can have an idea about number of SSC JE vacancies from the vacancy position of last years exam, as given in the table at right.
Eligibility for SSC JE Exam:
Age Eligibility: (as on 01.01.2014)
Min: 18 years, Max.: 27 years for JE (Civil & Electrical) in CPWD and Department of Posts.
Min: 18 years, Max.: 27 years for JE (Quantity Surveying & Contract) in MES.
Max.: 30 years for JE (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical) in MES.
Max.: 32 years for JE (Civil & Mechanical) in CWC and Farakka Barrage.
Age relaxations exist as per Govt. rule.
Min: 18 years, Max.: 27 years for JE (Quantity Surveying & Contract) in MES.
Max.: 30 years for JE (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical) in MES.
Max.: 32 years for JE (Civil & Mechanical) in CWC and Farakka Barrage.
Age relaxations exist as per Govt. rule.
Academic qualification Eligibility:
For JE (Civil & Electrical), CPWD: Diploma in Civil or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
For JE (Civil & Electrical), Department of Posts: Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
For JE (Civil), MES: Degree in Civil Engineering or 3-years Diploma in Civil Engineering + 2 years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works.
For JE (Electrical & Mechanical), MES: Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering OR 3-years diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering + 2-years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works.
For JE (QS&C) MES: 3 years Diploma in Civil engineering OR Passed Intermediate examination in Building and Quantity Surveying Sub Div.II of the institute of Surveyors(India).
For JE (Civil & Mechanical), CWC and Farakka Barrage: Degree or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
All the above qualifications should be from a recognized university or institute.
For JE (Civil & Electrical), Department of Posts: Diploma in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
For JE (Civil), MES: Degree in Civil Engineering or 3-years Diploma in Civil Engineering + 2 years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works.
For JE (Electrical & Mechanical), MES: Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering OR 3-years diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering + 2-years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works.

Selection Process for SSC JE Exam:

SSC JE Exam 2014 Important Dates:
Date of exam notification: 22.02.2014
Last date of application for SSC JE Exam 2014: 21.03.2014
Date of SSC JE Exam 2014 (Written): 25.05.2014 (Sunday).
SSC JE Exam 2014 Application Fee:
SSC JE Exam 2014 application fee is Rs. 100/=. The fee is exempted for all women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, Physically Handicapped and Ex-Servicemen.
You can pay the application fee online through SBI net banking or cash through SBI bank challan.
To pay fee in cash, you should take print-out of challan generated online after completion of part I registration. Deposit the requisite fee in SBI and then continue with the Part II registration.
If you pay the fee online through SBI net banking, you can go directly to part II registration after completion of part I.
SSC JE Exam 2014 Online Form/How to apply:
You can apply only Online for SSC JE Exam 2014. There is no offline application form.
The form would be displayed from 22nd February to 21st March, 2014.
You can pay the application fee online through SBI net banking or cash through SBI bank challan.
To pay fee in cash, you should take print-out of challan generated online after completion of part I registration. Deposit the requisite fee in SBI and then continue with the Part II registration.
If you pay the fee online through SBI net banking, you can go directly to part II registration after completion of part I.

Call letters for SSC JE Exam 2014:
You can download the SSC JE 2014 Exam Admit Card from the the respective SSC regional office.
If you have neither received the admit card nor you could download the SSC JE 2014 Exam Admit Card one week before exam date (say around 19th May, 2014), please contact the concerned SSC Regional Office with details such as Registration ID, Transaction ID for the duplicate admit card.
