COMEDK UGET-2013 exam notification has come out on 9th March, 2013 and this blog post is being made to help you apply for the same by quoting the important information on application form & eligibility from the exam notification. As per the notification, last date to apply online for COMEDK UGET 2013 is 15th April and the exam would be held on 12th May, 2013.

What is COMEDK UGET?
COMEDK (Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) is a forum of unaided private Medical, Dental, Engineering & Architecture institutes in Karnataka, which organizes entrance exams for these institutes every year for its undergraduate programs (called UGET: Under-Graduate Entrance Test) and postgraduate programs (called PGET: Post-Graduate Entrance Test).
While UGET is held in the month of May, PGET is held in the month of January end/ February beginning. In UGET 2013, 203 COMEDK institutes (12 Medical, 25 Dental, 150 Engineering colleges) are going to participate. Seats on offer through UGET 2013 is approximately 20,000.
In size and scale, COMEDK UGET is just next to another entrance exam in Karnataka called CET (Common Entrance Test), Karnataka – where close to 300 institutes participates (in CET-2009: 33 Medical, 39 Dental, 154 Engineering, 57 Ayurvedic, 10 Homeopathy, 4 Unani and, 4 Naturopathy/Yoga participated).
The difference is while COMEDK UGET is purely for unaided private institutes, CET, Karnataka is mainly for Govt-run institutes, where private (aided/unaided) institutes also participates. But if you have not studied in Karnataka or if either of your parent's mother tongue is not Kannada, you can not appear in CET, Karnataka.
On the other hand admission through COMEDK UGET is open to all the students across the country. SC/ST/OBC candidates of Karnataka however get relaxations in minimum qualifying %ages as the UGET eligibility below would show.
COMEDK UGET 2013 Eligibility:
UGET Eligibility for Engineering (BE):
Minimum 45% aggregate in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) in Class-XII exam or equivalent (like 2nd PUC) with English as language of study is compulsory.
For SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka minimum aggregate in PCM is relaxed to 40%. Similarly in the Common Entrance Test, you must secured minimum 40% marks in PCB.
Diploma Candidates are not eligible to take COMEDK UGET-2013 entrance test.

UGET Eligibility for Medical (MBBS) & Dental (BDS):
Minimum 50% aggregate in PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) in Class-XII exam or equivalent (like 2nd PUC) with English as language of study is compulsory. Also in the Common Entrance Test, you must secured minimum 50% marks in PCB.
For SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka minimum aggregate in PCM is relaxed to 40%.
UGET Eligibility for Architecture (B. Arch):
Minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC Candidates of Karnataka) in Class-XII exam or equivalent (like 2nd PUC) with Maths as one of the subject or a 10+3 Diploma recognized by Central / State Government.
In addition to above you need to score minimum 80 out of 200 in NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by Council of Architecture.
UGET Age Eligibilities:
Minimum 17 years as on 31/12/2013.
Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination prior to 2009 need NOT apply.
Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination prior to 2009 need NOT apply.
COMEDK UGET 2013 Test centres:
COMEDK UGET is held in the state of Karnataka only in following 8 COMDEK test centres (as per UGET-2013 notification): Bangalore, Belgaum, Bellary, Davangere, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Mangalore & Mysore.
COMEDK UGET 2013 Online Form:
If you have the above COMDEK UGET eligibilities, naturally you would like to know how to apply for COMDEK UGET entrance exam.
You can apply to COMDEK UGET only online. But before you apply online for COMDEK UGET, you must procure the DD (Demand Draft) for the COMDEK UGET application fee as below:
1.0 If you wish to appear in either of PCM (for BE) or PCB (for MBBS): Rs. 1200/=
2.0 If you wish to appear in PCMB (i.e. for both BE & MBBS): Rs. 1500/=
The above COMDEK UGET application fee should be paid in the form of a DD drawn in favour of "COMEDK", payable at “Bangalore”.
