SBI has just yesterday issued Recruitment Notification 2012 for 514 Specialist Officers in SBI & five of its  associate banks: SBBJ, SBH, SBM,SBP & SBT. All these positions needs experience except for the position of  Assistant Manager (Systems) and hence Freshers can apply only for AM (Systems). As per the recruitment notification, online submission of form would start from 8th October, 2012 and the last date to apply online for SBI Specialist Officers Recruitment 2012 is 28th October, 2012.

SBI Specialist Officers Vacancies 2012 (Bank-wise):

Salaries for SBI Specialist Officers:
These positions are for five different grades as shown below from Junior Management Grade Scale (JMGS) to Senior Management Grade Scale (SMGS) and the salary is offered in following pay-scales:

JMGS-I : 14,500-600/7-18,700-700/2, 20,100-800/7-25,700
MMGS-II : 19,400-700/1-20, 100-800/10-28,100
MMGS-III : 25,700-800/5-29, 700-900/2-31,500
SMGS-IV : 30,600-900/4-34, 200-1000/2-36,200
SMGS-V : 36,200-1000/2-38200-1100/2-40400

Eligibilities for SBI Specialist Officers:
You can find post-wise Eligibility for these SBI Specialist Officers in page 1-3 of the notification. Baring Assistant Manager (Systems) & Assistant Manager (Law) all these positions needs experience.

For Assistant Manager (Systems), you need to be a First Class BE/B.Tech/MCA or M. Sc in Computer Science/Engineering. Experience in computer programming in a reputed organization is desirable.
For Assistant Manager (Law), you need to be a Graduate with a degree in Law or  a Law Graduate who has passed 5 year integrated Law course.Also you need to have enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council.

Selection Process for SBI Specialist Officers:
Since most of these positions are for middle & senior level executives, applicant for the posts may not be much. So SBI may go for only Interview in most cases. However for junior level positions where even the freshers can apply, written test may be held.
Depending on the number of applicant for individual posts, SBI may hold written test+Interview or just Interview.

Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Bangalore, Bhopal, Raipur, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Jammu, Chennai, Madurai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Kolkata, Lucknow, Varanasi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Dehradun, Jaipur, New Delhi, Patna, Ranchi, Ernakulam & Trivandrum centres.

SBI Specialist Officers exam would consist of Test of English Language, Reasoning and/or Quantitative Aptitude in addition to Professional Knowledge. But only marks of Professional Knowledge paper would be used for merit list preparation. Other papers of SBI Specialist Officers exam will be of qualifying in nature.
