This blog post of mine follows from the earlier blog article titled: MAHAGENCO JE/SE Recruitment 2012 Notification, Form & Eligibility in which I promised to throw light on the prep materials for MAHAGENCO Junior Engineer (JE) & Sub–Engineer (SE) Exam. The exam study materials (pattern/syllabus/papers & books) presented here is based on the previous Junior/Sub-Engineers exam of  MAHAGENCO.

MAHAGENCO Junior/Sub Engineer exam pattern

MAHAGENCO in its recruitment notification 2012 has only said that there would be an Online Test to be followed by Interview in the selection process - it has not specified how many test section would be there in the Online Test. But based on a previous exam conducted by MAHAGENCO on 14th March 2010 for Junior Engineers, there are two papers in the online test - Subject paper and Aptitude test with distribution of question and mark as given in the table above. The test had 150 questions in total with 190 marks and has to be answered in 2 hours. 

I could not find the exam pattern for Sub–Engineers - but I think the pattern/structure would be same as above, which is similar to exam conducted by major PSUs for Diploma Engineers - e.g NTPC Diploma Trainee Exam.
You can therefore use the exam prep materials for NTPC Diploma Trainee Exam to prepare for MAHAGENCO Sub Engineer exam and  NTPC Engineer Trainee Exam MAHAGENCO Junior Engineer exam

MAHAGENCO Junior/Sub Engineer exam Syllabus & Sample Papers:

This MAHAGENCO Junior/Sub Engineers exam is being conducted for four engineering disciplines - Electrical, Mechanical,Electronics, Instrumentation. While I got the Official syllabus and sample papers for all the disciplines of  MAHAGENCO Sub Engineer exam, I could get syllabus and sample papers for only MAHAGENCO Sub Engineer exam for Civil Engineering.
