OHPC (Odisha Hydro Power Corporation) is going to conduct written exam 2012 for selection of GET (Graduate Engineer Trainee) & DET (Diploma Engineer Trainee). You can find more about it in my previous blog article titled: OHPC GET/MT/DET Recruitment 2012 Advt. Form & Eligibility. This blog post is being made to help you prepare for the  OHPC GET/DET Exam- to provide you the pattern of OHPC recruitment exam and sample papers & prep books for the same.

At the very outset, let me tell you that prep materials available on the net for  OHPC Trainee Exam is non-existent. Hence, the prep materials given here is gathered from similar exams for Engineer/Diploma Trainee conducted by other public sector organisations like SAIL, NTPC, BHEL etc.

OHPC Engineer/Officer Trainee Exam Pattern:

OHPC, in its recruitment notification has not said much about the pattern of written exam except following: the exam is going to consist of two parts: (i) General Aptitude (50 questions) & (ii) Subject Knowledge (100 questions). There would be negative mark - 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.
The notification does not says what are the test sections in General Aptitude or what is the duration of the exam.

But similar  exams conducted by blue-chip public sector companies like SAIL, NTPC & BHEL has following test sections:
Part-I:. General Aptitude test - It will consist of questions from:
i) Test of Logical Reasoning
ii) Data interpretation
iii) Quantitative Aptitude test.
iv) Test of English Language.

Part-II: Technical Knowledge test.
It will consist of questions specific to the qualifying disciplines/position applied for.
