DVC (Damodar Valley Corporation) had last week issued recruitment notification 2011 for 252 GET (Graduate Engineer Trainee) & 335 JE (Junior Engineer) and this is a golden opportunity for the Graduate Engineers/ Diploma Engineers to join the prestigious organization.
Last date to submit your online form for DVC Recruitment 2011 is 4th June, 2011.
With my intent to help you land up with a good job, I am making this blog article to help you apply for DVC GET/JE Recruitment 2011 with information from the above recruitment notification. Through another blog article titled: DVC GET/JE Exam Pattern Sample Papers & Books, I would help you to prepare for the exam.
But first a little bit about the organization, as you should know the same before making the decision for a career in DVC.
What is DVC?
DVC (Damodar Valley Corporation) was founded on 7th July, 1948 as the first multipurpose river valley project of independent India with the initial focus on flood control, irrigation, generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, eco-conservation and afforestation.
With its HQ in Kolkata and an annual turnover of 5284 crores (FY 2008-09), at present it has an installed capacity of 2857.20 MW. It aims to augment the capacity by addition of about 10427.20 MW in the XIth- XIIth Plan.

DVC Salaries:
DVC is offering salaries with following pay-scales for Graduate Engineer Trainees & Junior Engineers:
Pay scale for GET: Rs.15,600-39.100/-in Pay Band: 3 with grade pay: Rs.5, 650/-
Pay scale for JE: Rs.9,300-34.800/- in Pay Band: 2 with grade pay: Rs.4, 200/-
Eligibilities for DVC GET (Graduate Engineer Trainee):
Age Eligibility (as on 01.01.2011): Max 29 years.
Academic Qualification Eligibility:
Min. aggregate 65% marks (for SC/ST: 60% marks) in BE/B. Tech in relevant disciplines from a Recognized Indian University.
The aggregate is taking average of all the semesters, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular Semester/Year by the Institute /University.
Eligibilities for DVC JE (Junior Engineer):
Age Eligibility (as on 01.01.2011): Max 28 years.
Academic Qualification Eligibility:
Min. aggregate 65% marks (for SC/ST: 60% marks) in 3 years’ full time Diploma in relevant disciplines from a Recognized Indian Institute /University.
The aggregate is taking average of all the semesters, irrespective of the weightage given to any particular Semester/Year by the Institute /University.
Selection process for DVC GET/JE:
Selection process for Graduate Engineer Trainees & Junior Engineers in DVC consists of a written test followed by Interview. The written test will be held in Kolkata and Ranchi Centers. You can find details about the DVC exam in my blog post titled: DVC GET/JE Exam Pattern Sample Papers & Books.
DVC Recruitment 2011 Online Form:
You can apply for GET & JE positions in DVC only online.
How to apply online for DVC recruitment is given very clearly in page-10 of the Notification under section: XIII. “Special Instructions-How to apply”.
Before you go onto apply online, please download this fee payment challan and deposit the fee in SBI bank as given in section: “PAYMENT OF APPLICATION FEE” in page-4 of the Notification.
