You must be searching for some prep materials for KVS TGT/PRT exam preparation and that is why this blog post is made for - it discusses about the exam pattern, helps you to download KVS TGT/PRT 2013 exam Syllabus, provides you the sources of sample papers as well as guide books to prepare for this KVS teachers recruitment exam.

Let us now understand the exam pattern/scheme of KVS TGT/PRT exam:

Exam Pattern of KVS TGT Exam 2013 (P&HE, WE, AE) and Librarian:

For the TGT (P&HE, WE, AE) and Librarian positions, KVS Exam consists of two parts – Part-1 & Part-2 with total 200 Objective Type questions for 200 marks to be answered in 3 hours.

Part-1 of KVS TGT Exam is for qualifying purpose only - for the merit list only the marks of Part-2 and Interview mark is considered with the weigtage: 70:30 (i.e. Part-2 exam: Interview). Based on the relative performance of all the candidates, the cut-off mark for KVS TGT exam 2013 would be fixed to shortlist candidates for the KVS Interview.

In Part-1 of KVS TGT Exam, you have to score minimum 5 marks each in English & Hindi and also score minimum 13 marks in aggregate (i.e. English & Hindi combined). If you do not score these minimum marks, your Part-2 paper would not be evaluated.

Exam Pattern of KVS TGT and PRT Exam 2013:

For the TGT (English, Hindi, Maths, Sanskrit, Science and Social Studies) and also Primary Teachers (PRT), KVS Exam consists of two parts – Part-1 & Part-2 with total 150 questions for 150 marks with duration: 2-1/2 hours.

In Part-1 of KVS TGT/PRT Exam, you have to score minimum 4 marks each in English & Hindi and also score minimum 10 marks in aggregate (i.e. English & Hindi combined). If you do not score these minimum marks, your Part-2 paper would not be evaluated.

The weightage of Written Exam: Interview is 70:30 for preparation of the merit list

Exam Pattern of KVS PRT (Music) Exam 2013:

For the KVS PRT (Music) Exam, there are two parts – Part-1 & Part-2 with total 150 questions for 150 marks with duration: 2-1/2 hours.

In Part-1 of KVS TGT/PRT Exam, you have to score minimum 4 marks each in English & Hindi and also score minimum 10 marks in aggregate (i.e. English & Hindi combined). If you do not score these minimum marks, your Part-2 paper would not be evaluated.

The weightage of Written Exam: Performance Test: Interview is 50:30:20 for preparation of the merit list 

In the KVS TGT/PRT Exam 2013 Notification, nothing has been said whether there would be negative marking. You can find this only in the exam hall. However there was no negative marking in previous KVS TGT/PRT Exam (i.e. in 2011).
