AXIS Bank Sample Papers, Books & Exam Pattern

August 24, 2010

AXIS Bank Sample PapersThis blog post follows my earlier blog post "AXIS Bank Freshers Recruitment 2010-2011" which is an introductory article on where you can find the Freshers job availability in Axis bank, what are the eligibilities required and how to apply Axis bank as a fresher.

The focus of this blog article is on how to prepare for the Axis Bank exam. It tells you about the pattern of Axis Bank Exam and points you to the sources for online sample papers and books for Axis Bank Exam.

At first, let us find out about the pattern of Axis Bank Exam.

Axis Bank Exam Pattern:

Axis bank Recruitment notification 2010 does not says much about the pattern of written exam for for freshers - it does not specifies what papers would be asked in the exam, neither the mark distribution among the test papers.
So I had to dig deeper into the Axis bank career website and found the pattern/format/scheme of the written exam in this FAQ page of Axis Bank exam website. As per this web page, the written exam will consist of following four test sections:
1. Aptitude
2. Reasoning
3. English and
4. Banking Awareness/GK

So that's it - the Freshers Exam papers of AXIS Bank is identical to the Bank PO exams and hence you can use the sample papers and books of PO (Probationary Officers) exams for AXIS Bank Freshers Exam.

There are two types of tests in Bank PO written exam: Objective Test & Descriptive Test.

Let us go into more details of these tests:

Objective Test Pattern of Axis Bank exam:

In Bank PO exams, the Objective test consists of same four sections to be answered in about 2 hours: Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness & English Language with distribution of marks & questions as given below:

There is negative marks for the wrong answers in the Objective Tests. You can use the above pattern of exam while preparing for Axis bank written exam.

Descriptive Test Pattern of Axis Bank exam:
The Descriptive Paper consists of General Topic questions for Probationary Officers. 3 questions worth 60 marks are to be answered in 45 minutes.

In bank PO exams, the descriptive paper tests your Language composition, clarity of thoughts and brevity, higher order cognitive abilities, organization of ideas in a logical coherent manner and above all: your written communication skill.

Online sample/model/previous years papers of Axis Bank exam:

I had searched for those online papers of Axis Bank exam which you would need for preparation of the exam. I could not locate any sample paper exclusive to Axis Bank exam. But however, I could fish out some sample papers for Bank PO exam, which I think would help in your preparation for Axis Bank exam:

Sir, I'm basically from an engineering background but want to make my career as bank PO. I read some where that it's important to know the RBI norms and have knowledge about core banking processes before going for a BANK PO exam. Is it true? Also, I have been referred to join in an online course @ http://www.wiziq.com/course/1649-online-videos-to-prepare-for-bank-po-written-examinations .. Is online course more beneficial than an offline course ?
