This blog post is made as a sequel to my previous blog article on EIL MT Recruitment 2013 Notification, Forms & Eligibility which tells you elaborately on how to apply for the EIL MT positions along with eligibilities and online form.

Focus of this blog post is on to give you the study materials for EIL MT Exam – the sample papers and books along with an analysis of EIL MT exam pattern.

EIL MT exam pattern/selection process:

Selection process of EIL MT position consists of a written test followed by Interview for those shortlisted in the written test.

The written test centres for EIL MT positions are located in following 16 cities:

Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Ranchi, Secunderabad, Vadodara..

The exam is scheduled to be held in July 2012 (tentative).

EIL MT exam pattern consists of two test sections with 150 questions to be answered in 2 hrs:
1.0 Technical paper: 100 Questions from the relevant discipline.

2.0 General Aptitude paper: 50 Question from Quantitative Aptitude,General Awareness, Reasoning and English Language.

There is negative marking - 1/4th mark.

Compared to General Aptitude paper, Technical paper is easier – mostly basic questions are asked.

This exam pattern is very similar to the exam conducted by NTPC for ET (Executive Trainee) - there are 55 questions in Technical test & 35 in Aptitude – so a total of 90 multiple-choice questions, which needs to be answered in 2 hours.

EIL MT exam Books:

Although I could not find books  with title exclusively for EIL, I am sure following books for NTPC ET Exam would be useful for EIL MT exam as both of them are PSU with similar pattern of exam.
