Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (OPTCL) has recently issued Recruitment Notification 2013 for 184 Trainees - 167 JMOT (Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee) & 17 JTTT (Junior Telecom Technician Trainee). Submission of form would start from tomorrow (i.e. 16.12.2013) and the last date for submission of online application form is 14th January, 2013.

This blog post is being made to help you apply for the OPTCL Recruitment Exam 2013 for ITI Technician Trainees by highlighting the information on Eligibility & Application Form from above notification. What is OPTCL

Wholly owned by the Government of Odisha and incorporated in March 2004, Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (OPTCL) is one of the largest Transmission Utility in the country. Function of OPTCL is to undertake the business of transmission and wheeling of electricity in the state of Odisha.

With its headquarter in Bhubaneswar, OPTCL owns Extra High Voltage Transmission system and operates about 11,517.727 ckt kms of transmission lines at 400 kV, 220 kV, 132 kV levels and 107 nos. of substations with transformation capacity of 12,233 MVA having 262 nos of transformers.

OPTCL Technician Trainee Vacancy 2013

As said there are a total of 184 Trainee vacancy - 167 JMOT (Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee) & 17 JTTT (Junior Telecom Technician Trainee). You can find the post-wise, category-wise vacancy in the table at left.

Salary for OPTCL Technician Trainee:

OPTCL Technician Trainee are going to be paid consolidated stipend of Rs. 6,000/= per month for the 1-year training period, subsequent to which they would be absorbed as Semi-Skilled Assistant (Electrical/Telecom) on probation with pay-scale: Rs. 5,200 - Rs. 20,200/= with grade-pay Rs. 2100/=. 

Selection Process for OPTCL Technician Trainee:

This OPTCL Technician Trainee selection process consists of a written test followed by Interview. The written test consists of General Aptitude & Technical Knowledge test, specific to the discipline. OPTCL Technician Trainee Eligibility:

Following are the Eligibility required for OPTCL Technician Trainee recruitment:

Age Eligibility:
Minimum 18 years, Maximum 32 years as on 06.12.2013. Age relaxations exists as per Govt rule.

Academic Qualification Eligibility:
HSC Pass + National Trade Certification with minimum 60% marks for General & SEBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates in following trades:

For JMOT: Electrician trade.
For JTTT:  Electronics Mechanic/ Radio Television Mechanic/  Radio Mechanic trade.

The qualifications should be from recognized board/institute recognized by SCTE & VT/ NCVT.

OPTCL ITI Technician Recruitment 2013 Form & How to Apply:
You can apply for this recruitment only through online application form.
The form would be available from 11 AM of 16.12.2013 to 5 PM of 16.01.2014.
The application fee is Rs. 200/. However, SC/ST/PWD candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
