Just like the previous years, CBSE has recently invited application form for CBSE Scholarship 2013 under two schemes: CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child (SGC) 2013 & Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS) 2013. The notification for these CBSE scholarships have just come out and this article presents you the important information on the Application Form & Eligibility for the scholarship by quoting the same from notification.
Last date to submit the application form for these CBSE Scholarship 2013 is 15th September, 2013.

CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child (SGC) 2013:
This scholarship is meant for Single Girl Students (only child of the parents, with no sibling) who scored minimum 60% or 6.2 CGPA in Class X Exam from a CBSE school. Purpose of the scholarship is to provide encouragement to meritorious girl students and to recognize the efforts of the parents in promoting education among girls.
Amount of CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child is Rs. 500/- per month for two years, for studying in Class-XI & XII).
Eligibility Criteria for CBSE Merit Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child:
1.0 She should be an Indian national.
2.0 She should be the only child of her parents.
3.0 She should have scored minimum 60% or 6.2 CGPA in Class X Exam from a CBSE school and should be pursuing Class XI & XII in CBSE schools.
4.0 The tuition fees for Class X should not be more than Rs. 1,500/- per month during the Academic year. In the next two years the total enhancement of tuition fee shall not be more than 10% of the tuition fee.
CBSE Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS) 2013:
This scholarship is meant for students (both boys & girls) who have passed Class-XII (i.e. CBSE Senior School Certificate Examination 2013) for their Graduation and Post Graduation studies.
Amount of CBSE CSSS Scholarship is Rs. 1000/- per month for three years for Graduation Courses and Rs. 2000/- per month for two years for Post-Graduation Courses.
Eligibility Criteria for CBSE Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship (CSSS):
1.0 Applicant should be an Indian national.
2.0 Applicant should have scored following minimum aggregate marks in Class XII Exam (CBSE SSCE):
Science: 418; Commerce: 401; Others: 338 (first five subjects) for all categories (SC/ST/OBC/UR)
3.0 Applicant should have taken admission in Under Graduation regular course (not correspondence or distance mode) from recognized Educational Institutions/University in India.
4.0 Applicant should not be availing any other scholarship.
5.0 Total Annual Income of parents of the applicant from all sources should not exceed Rs. 6 lakhs per annum.
6.0 Applicant (both ‘general’ and ‘reserved’) should not belong to creamy layer as defined by DoP&T from time to time. Definition of creamy layer is given in page-2.0 of the notification.
