RBI recruitment notification 2013 has been issued recently for recruitment of 525 Assistants (i.e. Clerks), last date for applying to which is 20th June 2013. As per the notification, the RBI Assistant Exam 2013 would be conducted on 20th, 21st, 27th & 28th July, 2013. Just for your information, RBI has been conducting exam for selection of assistants almost every year. Last year too, RBI Assistant Exam was held on 29th April for 1000 bank assistants.

But first, what is RBI?
RBI is the central bank of India, established on April 1, 1935 through Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. Although initially privately owned, the RBI has been fully owned by the Government of India since nationalization in 1949.
The Preamble of the Reserve Bank of India describes the basic functions of the Reserve Bank as to regulate the issue of Bank Notes and keeping of reserves with a view to securing monetary stability in India and generally to operate the currency and credit system of the country to its advantage.
It has 19 regional offices, most of them in state capitals.

Salary Offer for RBI Assistants:
Gross salary being offered by RBI for Assistant job is approximately Rs.21,419/-per month, apart from other perquisites. The basic pay is Rs.8,860/- p.m. in the pay-scale of Rs.8,040 – 410 – 9270 – 500 – 11,270 –550 – 13,470 – 650 – 15,420 – 720 – 16,140 – 990 – 20,100.
Eligibility required for RBI Assistants:
Age eligibility: Min: 18 yrs, Max: 28 yrs as on 01.05.2013.
DOB should not be earlier than 02/05/1985 and not later than 01/05/1995 (both days including)
Age relaxations exist for SC/ST/OBC candidates as well as for candidates with higher qualifications/experience. Refer section: 4 (a) Age of the RBI job notification.
Academic qualification eligibility:
Minimum 50% aggregate marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD) in the Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline and the knowledge of word processing on PC.
On top of above, you should be proficient (read, write, speak) in the official language of that state for which you want to apply.

The selection process consists of a Written Exam followed by Interview. The written exam is of 200 marks, consisting of five test sections, each worth 40 marks: Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge.
