West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (WBSEDCL) Recruitment 2013 Notification has come out yesterday for recruitment of 404 Engineers: 270 Assistant Engineers (AE) & 134 Sub-Assistant Engineers (SAE) through advertisement no.: MPP/2013/02. As per the notification, submission of application form for WBSEDCL Recruitment 2013 begins from 20th April and the last date for submission of form is 3rd May, 2013.

WBSEDCL is a State-Govt PSU, owned by Govt. of West Bengal, which provides power to 96% of the state’s customers, from ordinary villages to huge industrial units. Manned by 17,000 personnel, WBSEDCL network spans over 5 Zones, 17 Regional Offices, 53 Distribution Divisions and 464 Customer Care Centers, catering to more than 1 crore customers.
WBSEDCL was formed out of West Bengal State Electricity Board (WBSEB) on 1st April 2007, when WBSEB was split into two companies: WBSEDCL and WBSETCL (West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited).
With an annual turnover of Rs. 13,000 crore, WBSEDCL has been making profits. In 2010-11, it achieved a profit of Rs 95.13 crore (PAT).

Salary for Assistant Engineers (AE): Pay-Scale: Rs. 15,600-39,100/= with Grade pay: Rs. 5,400/=
Salary for Sub-Assistant Engineers (SAE): Pay-Scale: Rs. 6,300-20,200/= with Grade pay: Rs. 4,400/=
Selection Process for WBSEDCL Engineer Recruitment 2013:
Selection for the Engineer Recruitment in WBSEDCL consists of a written exam followed by Interview.

Eligibility for WBSEDCL Engineer Recruitment
As you can see, there are two broad categories for which this recruitment is being done: Assistant Engineers (AE) & Sub-Assistant Engineers (SAE) in technical discipline. For AE, the academic qualification required is 4 years of graduate engineering in the relevant discipline while for SAE the qualification required is 3-years Diploma.

Age Eligibility: (as on 01.01.2013)
Min. 18 years, Max: 27 years.
Age relaxation exists only for candidates from West Bengal as per rule.
WBSEDCL Engineer Recruitment 2013 Online Form
