Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. (CMRL) has just today issued recruitment notification 2013 for a total of 719 vacancies for the positions of Station Controllers, Train Operators, JE & Technicians.As per the notification, while the online submission of form starts on 19th January, 2013, the last date to submit form for CMRL Recruitment 2013 is 16th February,2013. Online exam for this recruitment is expected to be held in March/April, 2013.

What is Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. (CMRL)

Incorporated on 03.12.2007, with its headquarter in Chennai, Chennai Metro Rail Limited is the upcoming mega project in Tamil Nadu with the estimated cost of Rs.14600 crores. 41% of this cost is going to be contributed by the Central and State Government while the balance will be met by a loan granted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Phase – I of the Chennai Metro Rail Project. The phase-1 of the project is expected to be completed by 2014-2015 in which two corridors with a combined length of 45 Kms. (24 Km underground & 21 Km elevated) will be constructed. These two corridors are: Corridor I (Washermanpet to Saidapet on Anna Salai) and Corridor II (Chennai central to Thirumangalam).

Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) Salary:

Chennai Metro Rail offers salary in following pay-scales for the three categories of posts:

Station Controller/ Train Operator/JE (Stations): Rs. 13500-25520.

JE (Jr. Engineer): Rs. 13500-25520.

Technician: Rs. 8000-14140

Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) Eligibility:

Following are the eligibility for CMRL recruitment 2013:

Eligibility for CMRL Station Controller/ Train Operator/JE (Stations):

Age: (as on as on 01/01/2013) 

Max: 28 years.

Academic Qualification:

Minimum 1st class (60 % marks) in 3-years Diploma or Equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical (EEE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) from a Govt. recognized Institute.

Eligibility for CMRL JE (Jr. Engineer):

Age: (as on as on 01/01/2013) 

Max: 28 years.

Academic Qualification:

Minimum 1st class (60 % marks) in 3-years Diploma or Equivalent in in relevant discipline (Mechanical, EEE, ECE & Civil) from a Govt. recognized Institute.

Eligibility for CMRL Technician: 

Age: (as on as on 01/01/2013) Max: 28 years.

Academic Qualification:

Minimum SSLC pass plus ITI in specific trade with minimum 55% marks from govt. recognized Institute.

Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) Selection Process:

Selection process for Chennai Metro Rail Recruitment 2013 would consist of an Online test (40% General Aptitude and 60% Subject knowledge) followed by Tamil proficiency Test. For the positions of  Station Controller/ Train Operator/JE (Stations), in addition to above, Psychometric Test would be held. Online submission of form starts on: 19th January, 2013.

Last date of form submission: 16th February,2013. (at 23.59 hrs.)

Last date of printed filled form receipt: 20th February,2013.

Date of CMRL written exam 2013: March/April, 2013 (Tentative).

You have to submit the application form for CMRL Recruitment 2013 only online. There is no offline application form.
