GAIL has just yesterday issued recruitment notification 2013 for Graduate Engineer Executive Trainees through GATE-2013 from the engineering disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Chemical. This marks the third advertisement by PSUs to recruit Graduate Engineer Trainees through GATE 2013. Previously NTPC & HPCL have issued ET Recruitment 2013 through GATE 2013. What are the eligibilities and how to apply for these Graduate Engineer ET positions in GAIL? This is the subject matter of current blog article. What is GAIL:

Incorporated on 16th August 1984, GAIL (Gas Authority of India Ltd.) is the largest gas processing-cum-distribution-cum-marketing company in India, integrating all aspects of the natural gas value chain. Its Market Share is more than 70% in both Transmission as well as Marketing.

Manned by over 3,700 employees, it has 11,000 km of Natural Gas high pressure trunk pipeline, 1,922 km of LPG Transmission pipeline, 7 LPG Gas Processing Units & 27 oil and gas Exploration blocks and 1 Coal Bed Methane Blocks, besides other infrastructures like 13,000 km of OFC network offering highly dependable bandwith for telecom service providers.

GAIL ET vacancies 2013 & GATE 2013 Papers:

Exact Number of Executive Trainee vacancies is not available at this moment, but list of engineering branches from which GAIL is going to recruit through GATE 2013 are as follows:
Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Chemical.

Corresponding GATE 2013 papers in which you should appear for the GAIL ET job is:
ME, EE, IN & CH.

Eligibility for GAIL ET:

Detailed notification with the eligibility (Age & Academic Qualification) would be available in GAIL online career website on 7th September, 2012.

Meanwhile, you can find what was the eligibility requirement for GAIL ET recruitment 2011 as below: This may change slightly for GAIL ET recruitment 2013.

Age Eligibility:

Maximum 28 years.

Age relaxations exists for reserved categories.

Educational Qualification Eligibility:

Minimum 65% aggregate (60% for SC/ST candidates) marks in Batchelor degree of Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. Engg.)

GAIL Recruitment 2013 Online Form:

You have to register (i.e. apply) actually twice for GAIL ET positions: once for GATE & than for GAIL.

First you have to apply online for GATE 2013.

Last date for applying online for GATE 2013 is 30th September, 2012. So better hurry!

Subsequent to your online registration for GATE 2013, you would be able to download the GATE 2013 Admit card from 5th December, 2012 onwards. Now you have to use the "GATE-2013 Registration Number" as given in the admit card to register online for GAIL ET Recruitment 2013.

The GAIL ET Recruitment 2013 Online form would be available from 6th December, 2012 in this GAIL Career website. Last date for submission of GAIL ET Recruitment 2013 Online form is 15th January 2013.

IMPORTANT GAIL ET Recruitment 2013 DATES:
Start date for online registration for GATE 2013: 01.09.2012.
Last date of online registration for GATE 2013: 30..09.2012..

Date of availability of GATE 2013 Admit Card (hence GATE-2013 Registration Number): 05.12.2012.

Start date of online registration for GAIL ET Recruitment 2013: 06.12.2012.

Last date of online registration for GAIL ET Recruitment 2013: 15.01.2013.

Date of GATE-2013 exam: 20.01.2013 (Online) & 10.02.2013 (Offline).
Date for GATE 2013 result: 15th March 2013 (Friday)

Subsequent to your online registration for ET positions, GAIL would procure the GATE scores from GATE authority, shortlist the candidates and if you are within the merit list, would call you for the subsequent selection process - that is Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
