This PO recruitment notification by Oriental Bank is the penultimate in a series of bank PO recruitment by  the nineteen PSU banks which had participated in IBPS PO/MT CWE exam 2011. The ball was set rolling by Corporation Bank on 3rd January, 2012, when it published advertisement for recruitment of 355 POs. Now only Andhra Bank remains to issue recruitment notification for Probationary Officers, which can come out any time. Similarly 14 of the PSU banks had issued advertisements for 18,820 clerk vacancies. Only following five banks (out of the nineteen PSU banks which had participated in IBPS CWE Clerk 2011) are yet to issue recruitment notification/advertisements for clerks: Punjab National Bank, Allahabad Bank, Central Bank of India, Vijaya Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce. You can find details of the clerk recruitment in PSU banks in 2012 in my previous blog article titled: IBPS CWE Clerk Cut-Off Mark Bankwise State-wise, Category-wise.

Oriental Bank is offering following pay-scale for PO & Agri Officers:

Rs. 14,500-600/7-18700-700/2-20100-800/7-25700/=

With this pay-scale, the approximate salary per month is Rs. 23,223/= in addition to which you will be enjoying other perks.

Eligibility for Oriental Bank  PO & Agri Officers:

Age Eligibility: (As on 01.07.2011 for  PO & as on 01.12.2011 for Agri Officer)

Min: 21 yrs, Max: 30 yrs. (Relaxations exists as per Govt. rule)

Academic Qualification Eligibility:

For PO: Minimum Graduation or equivalent from a recognized college/ university.

For Agri Officer:
Degree in Agriculture/Horticulture /Animal Husbandry/ Veterinary Science/Dairy Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Fishery Science/ Pissiculture / Agriculture Marketing Co-operation.

Experience (desirable but not essential) for Agri Officer: Field experience of agriculture work and agricultural credit.

Minimum marks in IBPS PO/MT CWE 2011 for Oriental Bank:

For General category:

Min. marks in each subject individually: 24.

Min. Total weighted score (all subjects combined): 120 for PO & 112 for Agri Officer.

For Reserved category:

Min. marks in each subject individually: 21.

Min. Total weighted score (all subjects combined): 105 for PO & 104 for Agri Officer.

In addition to above, you should have basic knowledge in operating computer systems in Windows mode:  knowledge of  MS Word/ Office, Spread Sheets like MS-Excel and Internet & Email familiarity You should either possess this essential qualification before joining the bank or acquire the same within a period of six months of joining the bank.

Since you have already appeared in IBPS CWE, there will be no more written test. You will have to appear in the Interview only.

Depending on the number of applicants Oriental Bank would shortlist the candidate for Interview based on IBPS CWE score. Total marks for the Interview is 50 marks and the minimum qualifying mark in Oriental Bank Interview is 40% for General category candidates & 35% for others.

Final merit list for the selected candidates would be based on combined total of your IBPS CWE score and the Interview.
