Indian Navy has just today issued recruitment notification 2012 for the December- 2012 course of Short Service Commission in Executive Branch
(Information Technology). This is a very good opportunity for those of you between 19-1/2 to 25 years who have already completed B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech/BCA/MCA or B. Sc. (IT) to join the Indian naval service.
Why? because you can go for a career in defence for a short period (10 years in Short Service Commission), retire as an ex-navy officer at a young age (say 34 years), draw pensions for the naval service and than join civilian jobs.

First let us start this by knowing what pay-package Indian Navy offers for IT officer.
Salary of a Sub-Lieutenant in Indian Navy:
On being selected in this Executive (IT) recruitment, you will be inducted as a Sub Lieutenant and offered pay-scale of PB-3/15600-39100 5400. With this pay-scale, the CTC is approx. Rs. 66,500/- per month which includes Basic Pay, DA, Grade Pay, Military Service Pay, House Rent Allowance and Transport allowance.
Eligibility for IT officer recruitment in Indian Navy:
Age Eligibility:
Min. 19-1/2, Max: 25 years (i.e. born in between 2nd Jan, 1988 to 1st July 1993, (both dates inclusive)
Educational Qualifications Eligibility:
You should have completed following qualifications:
BE/B Tech (Computer Science/Computer Engg/IT) OR BSc (IT) OR M Tech (Computer Science) OR MSc (Computer) OR BCA/MCA.
Final year students should not apply.
Minimum physical standards for Indian Navy IT officer recruitment:
In addition to above age & educational qualifications, you must also meet following physical standards:
1.0 You should not be colour/night blind
2.0 Height and Weight. Minimum height: 157 cms with correlated weight.
3.0 Eye Sight. 6/60, 6/6
Selection process for Indian Navy IT officer recruitment 2012:
Based on the applications submitted, Indian Navy shortlists the candidates and than candidates are called for SSB interview, to be held at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore in between July to November 2012.
