IBPS CWE Score Cut-off for PO Bank-wise: for all banks

February 16, 2012

IBPS CWE PO Cut-off markWith effect from this year (i.e. 2012), all major PSU banks in India have started recruiting their Probationary Officers (PO) based on IBPS CWE (Common Written Exam) score. While they have invited application form for the PO/MT positions, they have set the eligibility of IBPS CWE minimum marks that you must have scored in the CWE.

This gives us a very good benchmark to set how much marks you should score in IBPS CWE for different bank for future IBPS exams like IBPS CWE (PO) 2012, IBPS CWE (PO) 2013 etc.. It is only if you score this IBPS CWE cut-off mark that you can expect a call for the final selection process of that bank i.e. Interview/Group Discussion.

This is the subject matter of this blog article. You can know about the minimum IBPS CWE marks by going through the minimum eligibility criteria set by the individual banks in their recruitment notifications. But since this would involve much time, I have done this job for you – compiling the eligibility of minimum IBPS PO CWE score for all the banks

Nineteen Public Sector banks had participated in IBPS CWE 2011, based on which the PO recruitment this year (i.e. in 2012) is being done now. Out of the nineteen, sixteen banks have so far issued recruitment notification, details of which can be found from following dedicated blog posts:

Following 3 banks are yet to issue recruitment notification:
1). Andhra Bank
2). Oriental Bank of Commerce
3). Vijaya Bank.
I am going to post the information as a blog article as and when the notifications are issued by these banks.

IBPS CWE cut-off for marks PO:
Meanwhile, I am posting below the minimum IBPS CWE cut-off for PO set by these banks below:
Bank-wise IBPS CWE Cut-off %age for PO
In the table given above,  I have also given the minimum percentage marks to be scored in your graduation for General/OBC category candidates- for the reserved category candidates (i.e. SC/ST/PD), the percentage required in Graduation for Bank PO is 5% less. These are the minimum cut-off mark specified by banks to be eligible to apply for the bank PO jobs. However, depending on the IBPS CWE scores of applicants and the vacancy, banks may choose to shortlist the candidates for interview even higher than these minimum cut-off marks.

So as you can see from the table, you should try to score minimum 160 out of total 250 marks in IBPS CWE to expect a call for Interview. You can see the %age of these marks in the table below:
Bank-wise IBPS CWE Cut-off %age for PO

While Union Bank has not specified any cut-off marks for PO, Canara bank has specified IBPS CWE TWS cut-off as 58.4% - the highest so far. With lesser marks, you can expect call from banks such as Union Bank, Bank of India etc.

Hope above information helps to size-up your mind on how much to score in IBPS CWE 2012/2013. Keep visiting this blog as I am going to update this post regularly with data for the remaining 11 banks cut-off as an when the notifications are issued. Bye for now!

when we fill the application form of clerical cadre recruitment through IBPS there was not written anything regarding "clerical cadre recruitment would be State/UT wise basis, it will therefore be necessary that candidates apply for vacancies of a State/UT from which they have appeared for the common written examination and in which they qualified."
And we never filled any thing in the application form regarding we are applying for a specific State/UT . Only thing which we were filled is center of examination. How could IBPS self decided that center of examination and State/UT applied for is same?

Sir/Madam there are many students who are away from there "home town" for there studies, they fill the center of examination of the state where they are studing or there hostel/college located. But there home town is different ,so now in every bank's recruitment advertisement written that "clerical cadre recruitment would be State/UT wise basis, it will therefore be necessary that candidates apply for vacancies of a State/UT from which they have appeared for the common written examination and in which they qualified." so this thing is wrong and this is disappointed us. IBPS should write this thing earlier .That thing affects life of many students.

Well said kapil..I totally agree with you...I was also disappointed to see such a criteria...

Its India ,or a group of nation ..I don't know...

Why the recruiter forget that...a south indian may live in HIMACHAL PRADESH ..and he may take exam in HIMACHAL BECAUse of convenioence but that doesn't mean he is applying for the HIMACHAL pradesh..

I think ibps system is waste.
It was kept for getting more money through the name of applications. They r saying to apply candidates >125 but they r calling for interwiew who got >160 r 170. All banks r doing like that only. ECGC has 30vacancies but they told to apply all persons who qualified. This tells us they r expecting more money through recuitment.
So Individual bank notification is best.

there are enough vacancies so that the candidates those who have scored above 155 will be get selected very easily in any 1 bank for po post but they are not doing it properly. the only solution to the existing problem in common interview after which the candidates upto 155 marks will be selected.actually, the above 7000-8000 candidates got converted into 18,000. n i am sure there are vacancies left in each n every bank still after their recruitment process. they should fill the remaining vacancies by further conducting interview or through common interview. my score is 163 n my rank lies in between 10,000 to 11,000 and already 18,000 vacancies have gone but still m not selected. they will not do anything until n unless we would call ibps n tell them to conduct common interview. only 3 months are left. out of 1,12,000 candidates passed even top 12,000 are not getting selected. the banks or ibps should take action as soon as possible.

its quite necessary that ibps should take necessary steps in filling the vacancies properly. the high scorer has been getting opportunity for interview for all the banks.the situation of the scorers below 160 has become miserable wen it was said that the candidates with score upto 141 have chance to attend the interviews.

firstly as per the number of vacancies and the allotment as per the reservation the cut off and qualifying of ibps should have been announced initially so that it would have help the others to atleast prepare for the nxt exam.

banks announce release the notification with eligibility of score >120 or 130 and when the shortlisting for interviews is released the cut off is increased drastically. the same situation is being repeated by all the banks.. ibps should have intervened in this issue n atleast and the list of candidates selected in a particular bank would be published in a portal which is accessible to only banks so that they can get the exact number of people who r really awaiting for atleast one chance. situation was far better when banks were individually conducting exams...as we were atleast sure of attending the interview if qualified for the written.

n now with the concept of giving thrust to the employees banking knowledge tie up with manipal university is launched exploiting the candidates. they give us an amt 2500 as stipend evry mnth n if evr we leave a gross amt of apprx 4lacs has to be paid in return... if such training is so necessary..why cant it be conducted to all the candidates?? yet after deciding we have got atleast one chance of attending the interview n hoping to get selected...here too they select top scorers and the number of candidates they select is minimal. this clearly shows that they r no vacancies to be filled now in the banks and by this procedure they r fixing the candidate n unable to let him go imposing on him the huge amt by the way of loan for training.

the second list third list fourth list of candidates is released..where in the candidates called for are again from the shorlisted candidates they announced in the beginning. out of which most of them who have not been selected here might have opted for the other banks... by the time banks scrutinise n the number of candidates they get to join actually...the time keeps on elapsing. n the score cards of the ibps po expire..

i was an employee in a private organisation and have secured 160. as per the notifications released by the banks with a hope of selection, i had resigned my job as i had to serve a notice period, pay the bond amt n get my certificates back. it has been 5 months since i have resigned but could not get even a single interview call. what can be the solution for the people like me.

ibps and banks without proper strategy n planning are have exploited the candidates and have resorted to ruining the career...coz the frivolous notifications of the banks create a hope of getting a chance for interview n vacancies will be half filled up without know who will join or not n by the time the nxt scorer gets chance score card expires.

IBPS and BANKS...kindly donot play with our money, time, career and life
