First a small primer on NIMCET: NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) is an all-India entrance test conducted by the NIT (National Institute of Technology)s for admission to the MCA programme in the NITs. Source: WikiNIMCET exam has come as a boon for the MCA aspirants, as previously students had to apply to each NITs individually and also go through the selection process separately for each NITs. With NIMCET exam, you need to apply only once for the 11 participating institutes (in NIMCET-2011) and post selection in NIMCET, your admission is done through a centralized counseling. NIMCET-2011 seat-break up institute-wise:There are total 828 MCA seats on offer, out of which in NIT Tiruchirappalli, 46 seats are for Tamil Nadu. Break-up of MCA seats NIT-wise is given below: NIMCET-2011 important dates: NIMCET-2011 notification: 31st January, 2011. So for NIMCET-2012/NIMCET-2013 notifications check the following NIT websites from the the last week of January: www.nitagartala.in| www.mnnit.ac.in| www.manit.ac.in| www.nitc.ac.in| www.nitdgp.ac.in| www.nitkkr.ac.in| www.nitjsr.ac.in| www.nitrr.ac.in| www.nitk.ac.in| www.nitt.edu| www.nitw.ac.in.
