JNV (Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas) are co-educational, fully residential schools up to Class-XII and are located mainly in rural areas. A brain child of ex-Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao, the first JNV was established in 1985. At present there are 584 JNV disseminating education throughout the length and breadth of country in all states except Tamil Nadu.
JNV are managed by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti which is an autonomous organization under Ministry of HRD with eight regional offices at Bhopal, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, Pune & Shillong.
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in its recruitment notification has not said how many vacancies exists, but it has given the subjects for which this recruitment is open, which you can find in the table at right.
Navodaya PGT Salary:
NVS offers the Post Graduate Teachers salary in the Pay scale of Rs. 9300-34800 plus Grade Pay Rs. 4800. In addition to this salary, PGT are entitled to draw admissible allowance besides 10% special pay for performing additional residential duties.
Navodaya PGT Selection process:
Selection process for Navodaya Post Graduate Teachers consists of a written test to be held in 22 city/towns all over India as given below. The written test is an Objective type test in the areas of General Aptitude, Language Proficiency & Subject specialization. With total mark 240, you have to complete it within 3 hours. Eligibilities required for recruitment as Navodaya Post Graduate Teachers are as follows:
Age Eligibility:
Max 40 years as on 30.11.2011. Relaxations exists as per Govt rule.
Academic Qualification (Essential) Eligibility:
1.0 Min. 50% marks aggregate in 2-year Integrated Post Graduate M.Sc. Course from Regional College of Education of NCERT in the concerned subject OR Master’s Degree from a recognized university in the subjects as given in “ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS” in page-2 of the notification.
2.0 B.Ed. or equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
3.0 Proficiency in Teaching in Hindi and English languages.
Desirable Qualifications:
(a) Experience of working as TGT in a recognized institution in the concerned subject.
(b) Experience of working in a residential school.
(c) Knowledge of Computer application

There is no offline application form for this recruitment.
