Salary for Asst. Loco Pilots:
Indian Railway is offering following pay-scale for these positions:
Rs. 5200-20,200 with grade pay: Rs. 1900.
Eligibility for Asst. Loco Pilots:
Age Eligibility: (as on 01.01.2012)
Min: 18 years, Max: 30 years.
Age relaxation exists as per Govt. rule and accordingly upper limit of date of birth is:
For UR: 02.01.1982, OBC: 02.01.1979, SC/ST: 02.01.197.
Lower limit of date of birth for all is however: 01.01.1994.
Academic Qualification Eligibility:
Matriculation OR its equivalent under 10 + 2 system and Course Completed Act. Apprentice OR I.T.I. in any of the following specific trades recognised by SCVT/ NCVT:

(3) Instrument Mechanic
(4) Mill Wright/ Maintenance Mechanic
(5) Mechanic Radio & T.V.

OR Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics /Automobile Engineering recognised by AICTE in lieu of I.T.I.
Candidates having higher Educational qualification in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics/Automobile Engineering recognised by AICTE are also eligible.
Physical Fitness Eligibility:
On top of above age and academic qualification eligibility, to be an Asst. Loco Pilot in Indian Railway, you must also possess the following A-1 medical fitness:
Physically fit in all respects. Visual Standards - Distance Vision: 6/6, 6/6 without glasses with fogging test (must not accept + 2D) Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 without glasses (must clear fogging Test). Colour Vision, Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision must be present.

RRB Asst. Loco Pilot Exam Form 2011-2012: How to apply
You have to apply for the Asst. Loco Pilot Exam of Indian Railways in the offline form.
This form is also available in last page (i.e. Page-5 of the notification). After downloading the same go through section “4. HOW TO APPLY” of the
notification, fill the form and send the same to the corresponding RRB as desired by you which is given in section-15, page-3 of the
notification.
Some RRB has also the facility for online submission of the forms and you have to visit the website of that RRB and submit the online form. List of these websites is given in section-15, page-3 of the notification and how to apply online for RRB Asst. Loco Pilots is given in section-11, page-3 of the notification.
Important Dates for RRB Asst. Loco Pilot Recruitment 2011-2012:
Date of form availability/submission of form starts: 13.08.2011
Last date for application form: 12.09.2011 (for remote areas: 27.09.2011).
