 Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has issued Recruitment Notification 2011 for 115 positions of Scientist-B yesterday and if you are an engineering graduate, you can apply for these positions till 9th September 2011. Since these positions need no experience, freshers can apply for these jobs.

What is BIS? Founded in 1947 as Indian Standards Institution (ISI), BIS is the national standards body of India, which formulates the Indian Standards for goods and services. Currently over 18000 Standards formulated by BIS, are in force. It also undertakes product certification for Indian industries through a chain of 8 laboratories.
Branch-wise vacancy positions of BIS Scientist –B:  You can find the details of vacancies as given in the table at right. Category-wise vacancies are as below: SC: 17, ST: 9, OBC: 32, GEN: 57.
BIS Scientist –B Salary: BIS is offering salary in the pay scale of Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400 plus allowances for these Scientist-B positions.
Eligibility for BIS Scientist: Age Eligibility: (as on 09/09/2011) Min: 21 yrs, Max: 27 yrs. Relaxations exits as per Govt. rule.
Academic Qualification Eligibility: For Mechanical/Metallurgy/Civil/Electrical./Electronics/Food/ComputerDisciplines: Min. 60% (for SC/ST: 50%) in Master’s Degree in Natural Sciences or equivalent
For Food/Microbiology/ Bio Chemistry/Computer Science/ Computer Engg. Disciplines: Min. 60% (for SC/ST: 50%) in B.E./ B. Tech or equivalent.
Final year students can also apply, provided he/she can produce the proof of possessing the above qualification at the time of interview.
Selection process for BIS Scientist: The selection would consist of a 2½ hrs, 120 questions written exam to be held at Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Guwahati. Candidates short listed in the written exam would be called for an Interview to be conducted at New Delhi.

BIS Scientist Recruitment 2011 Online form: how to apply You can apply only online for BIS recruitment. How to apply online for BIS recruitment is given very clearly in page-5, Section: “8. HOW TO APPLY” of the notification.  Call letter/Admit Card for BIS Scientist Recruitment 2011: Your BIS written exam 2011 admit card/call letter would be sent to that e-mail id which you had specified in during online registration. It will not be sent to you by post. Hence keep checking your mail-id. Date of BIS recruitment 2011 written exam has not been given in the notification. Hence you can expect the same in your mail-id.
