 Indian Navy has issued notification for 10+2 Tech Entry (B. Tech) 2011 last Saturday, 28/05/2011. This is a golden opportunity for those young souls who secured 70% in PCM in Class-XII to obtain B. Tech from prestigious univeristy JNU and at the same time become a permanent commissioned officer in Indian Navy. What is Indian Navy 10+2 Technical Cadet Entry scheme? This is a catch-them-young program of Indian Navy. Once if you are selected for Indian Navy through this scheme, you are trained for 4-years in Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala. The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, is borne by the Indian Navy. You are also provided free clothing and hostel facilities. On successful completion of the 4-year course, you are awarded a B. Tech. either in Electronics & Communication or Mechanical Engineering by prestigious JNU (Jawahar Lal Nehru University). At the same time you are also absorbed as a Sub Lieutenant in Indian Navy (with pay-scale: Rs. 15600-39100=) in permanent commission.

Eligibilities for Indian Navy 10+2 Technical Cadet Entry scheme: The Eligibilities as given in the above notification are as follows: 1.0 Age: Min: 17 yrs, Max.:19½ years (i.e. born between 02 Jul 1992 & 01 Jan 1995. (both dates inclusive). 2. Educational Qualification: 75% aggregate marks in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) in Class-XII or its equivalent with at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII) 3. Physical Standards: (a) Height and Weight. Minimum height - 157 cms with correlated weight as per age. (b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/12, 6/12 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour/night blind.
Indian Navy 10+2 Tech Entry 2011 application form: The application forms for this Indian Navy 10+2 Technical Cadet Entry scheme has been given along with the Notification. how to apply has been explicitly described in section: “HOW TO APPLY” in the Notification.  LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATION FORM IS 28TH JUNE, 2011.
Indian Navy 10+2 Technical Cadet Entry Selection process: Subsequent to your applications, Indian Navy would shortlist the candidates and than the selection would be based on SSB interview scheduled to be held from July to Nov 2011 at Bangalore, Bhopal or Coimbatore.
What is SSB Interview? If you are a novice, you can find some very good information from a previous blog post of mine titled: Indian Navy SSB Interview Prep material. SSB Interview is held for different Indian defence entrance/recruitment exams such as NDA, CDS etc. So there may be some variance with respect to the Interview that you would actually face for 10+2 Technical Cadet Entry scheme.
