Cognizant (CTS) Freshers Test pattern, Sample papers & Books
|

December 24, 2010

Are you searching for some sample papers & books for Cognizant (CTS) Freshers exam? Than you are in the right place. Focus of this blog post is on helping you to prepare for Cognizant Freshers exam by first telling you what is the test pattern and than pointing you to the sources of sample papers and books for CTS Freshers test. As this study material is for CTS Freshers, it can be used for CTS Off-campus Interview as well as CTS On-campus Interview.
This Cognizant job opportunity for freshers is in the form of a "Combined Campus Recruitment", in which you would be asked to take the selection test in the cities given below: For IT: Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore and Kolkata. For IT IS: Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad and Bangalore. For BPO: Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Pune and Mumbai.
CTS Campus Interview selection process: The selection process in a campus interview session normally kicks off with a 20 minute PPT (Pre-Placement Talk) presentation by Cognizant HR guys in which you are told about the company, what it looks for you and what you can expect after joining it. You should pay proper attention to these presentations, as you can answer many HR interview questions from the information gathered from this PPT presentation.
How does a PPT presentation looks like? You can experience it from the NEPIF you-tube video below (WIPRO BPO PPT on 25th aug, 2007 at Guwahati univeristy, Assam):
Thereafter, the Cognizant Campus Interview selection commences in following three stages: 1.0 Written Aptitude Test. 2.0 Technical Interview. 3.0 HR Interview.
What is the cut-off in CTS selection process? This is the most asked question by freshers vying for a CTS job. Well let me tell you that no one can tell you what is the cut-off at various stages, as the cut-off depends upon the relative performance of fellow-freshers, with whom you are competing for the Infosys job. Till the exam is completed and the marks are assessed, no one have any idea who would score how much.
So depending upon the relative performance of all freshers for that particular Campus Interview and also how many positions are open, the cut-off is decided on the spot by CTS HR guys. Your task is therefore very well defined – try to score as much as possible in all the stages.
Let us go into details of the CTS campus recruitment process.
CTS Campus Interview Written Aptitude Test questions: There are 3 sections in the CTS Campus Interview for freshers: 1. Verbal Aptitude - 25 questions, 25 minutes. 2. Non-Verbal Aptitude – 20 questions, 20 minutes. 3. Analytical - 25 questions, 30 minutes.
What sorts of questions are asked in these CTS written aptitude tests? 1. Verbal Aptitude Questions: Reading comprehension, Sentence Completion/correction, Arrange the jumbled sentences etc.
2. Non-Verbal Aptitude Questions: figure sequence, odd figure out, Seating arrangement etc.
3.0 Analytical: Venn diagram, data sufficiency, binary conversion, cubes, Blood relations, profit loss etc.
CTS Campus Interview Sample Papers: You can visit following two websites on Infosys sample papers & HR Interview Questions: Books for CTS Campus Interview written tests: You can refer the following books for preparation of CTS Freshers written test. These books are available in most of the bookstores, but you can also order them online by clicking the links below, from Flipkart.com which offers huge discounts up to 25%, apart from free shipping/postage in India. You can choose to pay through Credit Card/Debit Card/Internet Banking. You can also choose to pay through “Cash-on-Delivery” i.e. you pay in cash only when the same is delivered at your doorstep:
List Price: Rs. 625; Offer Price: Rs. 469; Discount: Rs. 156 (25%)
List Price: Rs. 125
Cognizant HR Interview Questions: This is the final hurdle between you and the dream Cognizant job. But do not worry much about the Cognizant HR Interview. The questions asked are very general and if you maintain your cool and be confident, you can clear the HR interview very easily. As told before, you can answer many HR interview questions from the information gathered from the PPT presentation.
Following are some sample HR interview questions: 1) How was your technical interview. 2) Tell us about yourself 3) What do you know about Cognizant 4) Why should we hire you 4) What difference do you bring if we hire you. 5). What is the first thing that you are going to do after joining our company.
Hope with above CTS Campus Interview Exam Pattern, Interview questions and prep books you would be able to crack the placement event very easily. I would be on the look out for more information on CTS placement event and post the same here. So keep checking this blog. Labels: Cognizant (CTS) recruitment |

BITSAT study material: Exam pattern, Sample papers & Books

|
|
Focus of this blog article is on BITSAT prep material - it at first discusses about the exam pattern of BISAT and than goes on to point you to the Sample papers & Prep Books for the exam.
In a previous blog article of mine titled: BITSAT 2012 Notification, Eligibility & Forms, I had told you about the BITSAT 2012 notification, what are the eligibilities for BITSAT 2012 as well as how to apply for the exam.
BITSAT 2012 Exam pattern:
BITSAT is an exclusively online entrance exam – there is no paper/pencil version of BITSAT. You have to appear the exam in one of the thirty two BITSAT test centres (including one abroad in BITS, Dubai). BITSAT is a Computer Based Test (CBT) but is not an Internet based online test, which means you can appear in the exam only at those test centres.
BITSAT is a 3 hour long exam with four paper sections of total 150 questions, 450 marks as below:
Each BITSAT question is of 3 marks and there is negative marking: -1 mark for each wrong answer. You can skip any question and come back later again to answer the same.
For very meritorious among you, BITSAT has bonus questions: if you can answer all 150 questions within time (i.e. without skipping any question), you can opt to go for 12 extra questions – four question each from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, each question of 3 marks with negative 1 mark for wring answer.
But once you opt for bonus BITSAT questions, you can not go back and review those first 150 questions!
How much to score in BITSAT 2012 exam?
There are 2000 seats on offer (800:Pilani, 600:Goa & 600:Hyderabad). So your goal must be to stay within the top 2000 students. Which BITS institute or which stream would you get if your score is say “X”? Read in detail about it in my previous blog article titled: BITSAT 2010 Cut-off: Institute-wise/Stream-wise.
BITSAT 2012 Sample papers/Mock Test :
When you start your preparation for BITSAT 2012 exam, you would naturally search for the BITSAT previous years paper/sample papers. I did the searching for you on the net and found out following BITSAT papers:
BITSAT Sample test from BITS:
BITS Pilani has brought out a very good BITSAT mock test desktop application, which gives you the exact look and feel of the BITSAT CBT environment. The only difference with the actual exam is that in real BITSAT, the exam is of three hours duration while the BITSAT mock test is of half-an-hour duration.
You have to download this application and than install it in your own computer.
Click here to download BITSAT mock test from BITSAT exam site.
BITSAT online sample papers from Jumbo Tests:
BITSAT mock test from Study Places:
A very good website that gives you one full-length BITSAT mock test as well as 14 BITSAT mock tests covering all BITSAT paper sections (Physics, Chemistry, Maths & English) individually. It needs a free registration. Click here to find these BITSAT mock tests.
BITSAT Sample Papers from Learn Hub:
You can find some good quality BITSAT Sample Papers from the left menu bar of this website.

BPCL MT Exam Pattern, Sample Papers & Books
|
|
December 03, 2010
|
|
|
|
Are you searching for some prep materials on BPCL Management Trainee Written Exam - the sample papers & books? Well, let me tell you - the study materials available online for BPCL MT Exam is very less and you might have been disappointed by now!
Since the materials available on net for the BPCL exam is very less, we can take an alternate route - find the sample papers & books for exams very similar to the that of BPCL - like for instance the IOCL, HPCL exams and also NTPC Executive Trainee exam. All these are public sector industries and the format of the written exam is very similar, if not identical!
At first let us begin our search for preparation materials for BPCL exam by knowing the process of selection for BPCL Management Trainee.
BPCL MT Selection process: Selections for BPCL MT consists of a Written test, followed by GD & Interview just like selections for Graduate Engineer/Management Trainees in other PSU like HPCL, NTPC etc.
BPCL has not said much on what would be the pattern of its recruitment exam, neither marks allotted or duration of the exam. It has however said that the written test would consist of objective multiple-choice questions in two parts: Part I – General Aptitude Test. Part II – Technical/Professional Knowledge Test. While the questions of Aptitude test is common, questions of the Technical test would depend on which among the five disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Fire Engineering or Human Resources) you belong to.
However, a very similar exam in NTPC for Executive Trainees consists of 55 questions in Technical test & 35 in Aptitude – so a total of 90 multiple-choice questions, which needs to be answered in 2 hours. Thus you have 1 min. 20 seconds aprox. to answer each question – the questions as such are not difficult and therefore your main focus would be to answer the questions correctly. Notes of caution: There is negative marking: 1/4th mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. So if you make a guess, make it wisely!
For Aptitude test the questions asked are of type: Synonyms, Antonyms, Comprehension passages, Word analogies, Fill in the sentences with the most suitable word, Aptitude problem solving skills (train probs, loss profit sums, ratios, etc.).
Mind you, above pattern is the NTPC Executive Trainee exam pattern (for Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Control & Instrumentation, Human Resources & Finance) and naturally you would find some difference in BPCL written exam. But however, you can base your preparation on the same.
Sample/model/previous years paper of BPCL written test: I scouted for those papers on the net and could not find any paper specific to BPCL MT test. But however following sample/previous years papers of NTPC ET test may be helpful:
