This blog post focuses on how to prepare for the BSNL Management Trainee exam, by giving you the pattern of BSNL MT exam and points you to the sample papers and books for its preparation.

BSNL selection process for the Management Trainee consists of a written test, followed by GD & Interview for a total 600 marks, with following distribution of marks in each stage:
Written Test: 450, GD: 75, Interview: 75.

Following table gives you a more clear illustration:
BSNL Exam Pattern
BSNL Written Test Pattern:
BSNL Written test consists of 450 marks in three sections, with section-wise marks as below:
BSNL Written Test Pattern

BSNL MT Exam Syllabus:
Although most of the competitive exams for recruitment does not prescribes any syllabus for the exam, BSNL has prescribed the syllabus for BSNL Management Trainee exam, which you can find in my blog article titled: BSNL MT Exam Syllabus.

BSNL MT Exam Sample Papers:
As far as my knowledge is concerned, this is the first time BSNL is conducting Management Trainee recruitment test (after BSNL MT Exam 2008 was cancelled due to stiff resistance against MT recruitment by All India Graduate Engineer Telecom Officers Association).

So if you are in search for previous years BSNL MT Exam sample paper, you would not be able to find one! Therefore your preparation for the exam should depend on the course materials you had studied in your MBA/Engineering or CA/ICWA/CS courses, by taking into account the syllabus for BSNL MT Exam.

You can also try to find syllabus component wise sample questions from the net. How do you do this?
BSNL MT Exam Sample Papers
Just Google by the syllabus component. For example, when trying to find Management Aptitude sample questions, I had used the search term: "Management Aptitude sample questions” and came up with this sample paper from funeducation.com.

I had also found some BSNL sample papers in yuvajobs.com.

For the sample papers of BSNL Cognitive Ability test section, you can refer to this previous blog post of mine, which has similar test sections. You can as well check the blog post titled Test of Reasoning: Sample Question papers & Books.

BSNL MT GD Topics:
After you clear the BSNL written test, you have to appear in the Group Discussion. How do you prepare for that? My blog post “Group Discussion” tells you the nuances of a Group Discussion, which I am sure, would help you. You can also go through the blog article titled: "Types of Group Discussion Topics".

BSNL MT Interview Questions:
Questions asked in the BSNL interview can be divided into following three broad areas:

1.0 Warming up questions about yourself:
To prepare for these questions, take help of the “Interview” section of this blog – post which gives you nuances of an interview along with 99 most common interview questions.

2.0 About BSNL as an organisation:
To prepare for these questions, read the “About us” page of BSNL website .

3.0 Conceptual questions from your area of specialization and current affairs:
Help yourself with the preparations you made for the written tests and news papers/magazines.

Hope with above study materials, you would be able to crack the BSNL MT exam with ease. Best wishes!
