This blog post has been posted as a sequel to my previous blog article: EPFO JE/SSA Recruitment Notification & Forms, which tells you in detail about the openings for 2382 Social Security Assistant (SSA) & 11 Junior Engineer (Civil) in EPFO. The focus of this blog article is on providing you the EPFO SSA exam study materials – by first telling you about the EPFO exam pattern and than giving you the sources of sample papers & books for EPFO exam, to help you prepare for the same.
At first let us know that the job of a Social Security Assistant (SSA) in EPFO is something very similar to the clerical jobs in the banking industry. The job role as defined in the EPFO recruitment notification is: Maintenance of Accounts and Compliance Records and Settlement of Claims; Preparation of Reports, Cash Books, R & P Accounts etc. and assisting functions of EDP and Administration.
Therefore, as you would find out, EPFO SSA exam pattern (and also questions) is similar to Bank Clerical exam pattern and hence you may use the study materials of Bank Clerical exam as the study materials for EPF SSA written exam (this does not includes the Data entry operator test).
EPFO SSA exam pattern/ Selection procedure:
Selection process, as informed in the EPFO recruitment notification consists of a Written exam followed by a Data entry operator test.
The Written exam consists of objective type questions from following four test areas: i) Test of English language, ii) Test of Reasoning, iii) Test of Numerical ability, iv) Test of office work aptitude.
Each of these test areas are the same ones as those asked in a bank clerical exam. No mark distribution/time duration has been specified in EPFO notification. In bank clerical exams, generally there are 50 questions for each of these tests, to be answered in 90-95 minutes.
On the other hand, Data entry operator test would assess your speed and accuracy in Data Entry Work. Minimum requirement set by EPFO is 5000 key depressions per hour.
EPFO SSA exam sample papers:
I had tried hard to find previous years EPF SSA exam papers for you on the net – but could not locate any. However, I am very sure that following sample papers for bank clerical exam is going to help you prepare for the SSA exam.
