RRB Chennai Online Form – How to apply:
|
|

|
|
|
|
This blog post follows my earlier blog article on RRB Chennai: RRB Chennai Job-2009: Notification/Eligibility/Forms and tells you where to find the online form for RRB Chennai exam and how to apply.
Why should you apply online for RRB Chennai? If you ask me above question for my personal preference, I would have still chosen to apply online only for RRB Chennai (or for that matter any other exam). Why? Because, I can do it anytime within the last date from the cool comfort of home/school/office/cyber cafe. Secondly, there is almost nil chances of me filling the form wrongly, since online form would prompt me for entering the data correctly. For example, in the online RRB Chennai form, it is only when you chose “Employee Notice Number” drop box, that “Category Group” drop box becomes selectable.
Thirdly and most importantly, I would be able to view the status of my application online by using my online registration number or by entering my name and D.O.B after 45 days of closure of notification.
What if I do not know anything about internet? I would have taken the help of a net-savvy friend!
So why should I not fill the form online?
Before going to apply online for RRB Chennai exam, have followings ready: 1.0 Demand Draft / IPO for Exam fees appropriate to the category you are applying. These details you need to enter in the form as shown in following screenshot.
2.0 Printer should be attached to the computer to take print out of the online form at the end of submission of the form. 3.0 Your recent photograph (in JPEG, JPG or GIF format) for uploading. Read this FAQ on RRB Chennai online form for more details.
If you have above ready, than click here to visit RRB Chennai home page, on which click at the button "Click Here for Online Registration" as shown below:
You are than shown the page for online application procedure and than the online form as shown below:
After filling the form online, you need to take print out of the same and send it with requisite enclosures to RRB Chennai, within the last date!
Best Wishes!Labels: RRB Exam |

You can find detailed information on MAT May 2011 from this website of AIMA (All India Management Association).
This blog post encapsulates the information contained in above notification in brief, so that same can be used not only by MAT May 2011 examinees, but also by future MAT aspirants - say for MAT September 2011 exam, to base their preparation on the same. It also points you to the prep materials - the sample papers and books for MAT exam to hep you prepare for the same.
But first let us learn about MAT in brief.
What is MAT? Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a management entrance exam held four times every year in the months of May, May, September & December. It is being conducted since from 1988 by AIMA (All India Management Association), an Industry- Government of India interface and which now is a federation of 60 Local Management Associations (LMAs). More about AIMA can be learnt from AIMA website.
AIMA conducts MAT on behalf of the participating institutes, number of which has been growing every year and currently, 584 management institutes (West zone:92, East zone:97, South zone:165, North zone:230.) are participating in the in MAT May 2011 exam.
Popularity of MAT has increased among students vying for management degrees, due to MAT being organized more frequently (four times per year - February, May, September & December) than any other management entrance exam, the examination process being simpler and cheaper (Rs. 1050 fee including the application-cum-test fee). How many students appear for MAT?
As per prominent management coaching institute PT Education from Indore, on an average 6 to 8 lakh candidates write MAT each year (around 1.5 to 2 lakh in each MAT)! This makes MAT the most popular entrance exam in India. MAT participating institutes:
The number of management institutes (MI) participating in MAT varies from year-to-year. While in last year 532 management institutes participated, in MAT May 2011 exam, 584 management institutes are participating. You can download the list of management institutes (MI) participating in MAT through this AIMA website link.
Eligibilities for MAT exam:When you decide to appear in MAT exam, your next query is naturally what eligibilities you need to have to appear in MAT exam. AIMA has kept the MAT eligibilities very simple: You just need to be a Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Final year degree course students can also apply.
MAT May 2011 Offline forms: Last date of sale of MAT May 2011 Offline forms: 6th April 2011 (Wednesday). AAI Exam – Exam pattern & Study materials
|
|
March 03, 2009

|
Airports Authority of India (AAI), which came into existence on 1st April, 1995 by merging erstwhile National Airports Authority and International Airports Authority of India, is responsible for creating, upgrading, maintaining and managing Civil Aviation infrastructure both on the ground and air space in the country.
More about this organisation can be found in this about us page of AAI.
Selection process for this AAI ATC recruitment:
The selection would be made on the basis of a written test and interview.
Also for Jr. Executive (ATC), there would be a Voice test (not required for Jr. Executive (Electronics).
After this notification came out, there were a number of request from the applicants of AAI exam for the syllabus, model papers/study materials of this AAI exam. Two of the requests is reproduced below:
AAI exam pattern:
AAI notification had been very vague on the pattern of AAI written exam – it just merely says there would be a Written test and does not specifies what papers are going to be set. Also, syllabus is not specified for AAI exam – it is to be expected as most of the commercial organizations do not set syllabus for their recruitment exams.
Also, there is no information available on the net for AAI exam papers.
In absence of concrete information, let me try to give you at least some directions for preparation of the AAI exam.
At first, let me tell you that pattern of exams should not be much difference between the AAI exam pattern for Jr. Executive (Electronics) & the AAI exam pattern for Jr. Executive (ATC) – why? Because, if you see the qualifications required – it is identical for both. Only Jr. Executive (ATC) would have an additional test –“Voice test”.
Written examination comprises of following 4 papers:
Elective Paper from Concerned Engineering Branch
General English
General Knowledge
Mental Ability (Numerical/Logic based)
Apart from the Elective Paper from Concerned Engineering Branch, I would love to point you to my previous blog post on SBI Bank PO exam, which has similar sections and hence some sample papers.
For those applying for Jr. Executive (ATC), may be you would love to take this ATC Guild quiz – you need to register in a short user details form.
Prep Book for AAI ATC Manager/Jr. Executive/Sr. Assistant Exam:
Airports Authority Of India Manager/jr. Executive/sr. Assistant Examination By Ashish Dixit, Publisher: Upkar
List Price: Rs.620.
Also, for those who takes ATC exam very seriously, may be you would love to go through the bible of ATC book:
Air Traffic Control Career Prep With Cdrom by Patrick R. Mattson
List Price: Rs 2724 Offer Price: Rs. 2097
So that’s it for your AAI written exam.
If you get selected, for the AAI interview preparation, go for this previous blog post of mine which tells you how you can prepare for any sort of job interview. Naturally you should not forget to know more about AAI through the about us page of AAI.
Where can you find your AAI exam result?
In this page of AAI website.
Best wishes for the exam – and yes, after you appear in the exam, please post your experience below as comments to help future AAI aspirants. Labels: AAI Recruitment |

Actual ICICI PO experience: Written test, GD & Interview
|

March 01, 2009

|
|
Rajeesh R had recently got selected in the ICICI PO program and he sent me a nice mail thanking for the materials I blogged in the post: Online Papers and study material for ICICI PO Exam.
I reproduce the partial content of the mail below: Being a nice soul as he is, he wanted to share his ICICI PO experience and sent me the same to publish it in the blog, so that future ICICI PO aspirants can get some insights.
Thank you Rajeesh for the noble gesture. Hope other people would share their experiences, by posting comments to this post. Here goes the ICICI PO experience of Rajeesh:
Actual ICICI Written test experience:
I had my Written test in Chennai centre. After my app test only I saw your interview tips. So I just prepared only percentage and loss & profit based problems (as I had problems related to it in Bank exam papers, which I downloaded through Google) and other than that I didn't prepared anything.
My ICICI Written test experience is as follows:
1) English comprehension type in which we have to choose which one in true and false according to the passage.
I did well that part as I believe pure concentration is enough to choose the correct options. I didn't read full passage but first I read the question and choose the answer for that from the paragraph. This helped me to take more time to choose correct answer.
2) Numerical Problem type: Half of the questions are known as I prepared %,loss & profit problems and I did well those problem and also solved some other problems and at last I had 10 to 8 unsolved problem which I do not know to answer. I choose the answer which I felt may be correct.
3) Verbal reasoning, in that also I choose which I felt as absolute one.
4) Solving diagram & shapes: Many sequential diagrams are given and asked to choose which one follows that sequence. First I find out what is the sequence in diagram and then chosen the answer.
Actual ICICI GD and PI interview experience:
I had my ICICI GD and PI interview on 21st February, 2009 in Chennai.
Mine is 9.45 batch and I went there by 9 am. We were asked to seat in canteen floor. When I went there the first batch (9.00) candidates are seated separately by 12 in group. Before I called for verification I made new friends there and spoke about what will be GD topic (it was case study) and had intro with them.
By 10.30 our batch had GD. An HR person gave us some 3 pages sheet and asked us to read it and speak about it. The GD topic given to us is AS A PRESIDENT OF AN UNIVERSITY HOW WILL I ALLOT MONEY FOR VARIOUS DEPT IN THAT UNIV.
After giving topic HR person went out for 5min and while going out he spoke to another HR person that he selected 11 in previous batch and I heard what he said. This gave me confidence that rejection is less so if we speak well and clear, we can be selected.
We had 15min to share our ideas and a girl in our batch started first. I kept silent for first 5 min and listened to others speech.
When I started to speak I said some points which others didn't said and it was accepted by others too. Then at last HR asked us to stop and gave chances to persons who didn't speak well. Then he asked one in us to give a conclusion. Ten of us got selected for PI.
We asked to have psychometric test in a private net center and four of my friends from our GD batch went together and finished that test.
By 4 pm I was called for PI. There were 3 cabins for PI. The instructor who called us, made 4 of us to sit near a cabin and others in 2nd cabin. I was waiting in 2nd cabin till 6 and kept me relaxed and cool.
The same instructor came and called my name and asked me WHY U'R SITTING? U R SUPPOSED TO BE IN 3rd CABIN?
For a min I got tensed coz he only asked me to sit in 2nd cabin.
Then I went to 3rd cabin and my friend was there in room. He was interviewed by 2 HR.I was sitting outside what HR would thought me as I was not there when I was called by them.
Finally my turn came, the first question asked to me is WHERE U HAVE BEEN WHEN WE CALLED U?
I explained what happened and they got convinced. My 2nd question was
ARE U READY TO WORK IF U POSTED ANYWHERE IN INDIA?
I said YES SIR,I CAN ADAPT TO ANY ENVIRONMENT SO I AM READY SIR.
3rd question ABOUT YOUR FAMILY? WHAT IS YOUR DAD'S ANNUAL INCOME?
I answered him. He noted the annual income I said and my dad's profession.
4th question WHAT IS YOUR PERCENTAGE IN YOUR ACADEMICS?
I answered him. He noted the percentages also.
5th question DO U KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ICICI?
I prepared well for this question and said its history, awards won in 2008 and about its total profit and assets detail in numbers.
6th question WILL U WORK IN SALES DEPT?
I took few seconds to answer him. I said that sales field is not suitable for me, I'm not having experience in sales and asked him what about other departments?
He asked me am I have any experience in solving customer problems, passing cheques...He said not to be worried they will train me and make sales field suitable for me. I said then I'm ready to work in sales sir.
At last he asked me DO U HAVE ANY QUESTION?
I said YES SIR ABOUT TRAINING.
He asked WHAT U WANT TO KNOW ABOUT TRAINING?
I said IS THERE ANT CUTT-OFF IN TRAINING TO GET CLEAR FOR GETTING JOB?
He said YES,U HAVE TO SCORE 80% OVERALL TO GET CLEAR.
I said OK SIR, THEN I WIL TRAIN HARD TO GET 80%
Then they shaken my hand and said OK RAJEESH, ALL THE BEST.
I said THANK YOU SIR and left the room.
This is my experience Sir, Kindly send me suggestions about what mistake I did in this interview so that I could rectify it.
Thank you.
My comments:
No Rajeesh, I could not find any mistakes in your interview conduct. That is why you got selected!
For future ICICI aspirants:
In GD, it may quite be possible that entire group may be selected - here in group of Rajeesh, 10 out of 12 were selected. So do not ruin your chances by showing your meanness to other group members - by dominating the group or making negative criticism.
