RRB Chandigarh: Notification/Eligibility/Forms

Railway recruitment Board, Chandigarh has recently issued notification (RRB/CDG/EN-01/2009, dtd. 31/01/2009) for 650 Section engineers, Junior Engineers, Assistant Loco Pilot, Technicians, break-up which is given as below:

Section Engineer:
90 posts, Pay Scale: Rs. 6500-10500
(Electrical, Elect. TRD, C&W, S&T Workshop, Signal, P.Way, Bridge, Works, Drawing)

Jr. Engineer-II: 177 posts, Pay Scale: Rs. 5000-8000.
(Electrical, Electrical TRD, DSL Mechanical, Mechanical, S&T Workshop, C&W, Works, Drg.):

Depot Material Superintendent-I :
02 posts, Pay Scale: Rs. 6500-10500.

Technician-III: 54 posts, Pay Scale: Rs. 3050-4590.
(C&W Fitter, Wireman, Lineman, TMC)

Assistant Loco Pilot: 324 posts, Pay Scale: Rs. 3050-4590.

Telecom Maintainer-III (Tele): 03 posts, Pay Scale: Rs. 3050-4590.


Eligibilities for these RRB posts:
Eligibilities for Section Engineer: Age: 20-35
Academic Eligibility: Degree in Engineering from relevant disciplines.

Eligibilities for Jr. Engineer-II: Age: 18-33
Academic Eligibility: Diploma in Engineering from relevant disciplines.

Eligibilities for Depot Material Superintendent-I: Age: 20-35
Academic Eligibility: Degree in Engineering from any discipline.

Eligibilities for Technician-III (C&W Fitter, Wireman, Lineman, TMC): Age: 18-30
Matriculate plus ITI/Act Apprenticeship passed in relevant trade.

Eligibilities for Assistant Loco Pilot: Age: 18-30
Matriculate plus ITI/Act Apprenticeship passed in relevant trade.

Eligibilities for Telecom Maintainer-III (Tele): Age: 18-30
Matriculate plus ITI/Act Apprenticeship passed in relevant trade.

You can find complete details on this RRB Chandigarh exam, including academic qualification requirements in the notification. This RRB Chandigarh notification has also been published in the Employment News dated 31st January, 2009.

How to apply for the RRB Chandigarh exam:
First click here to download the RRB Chandigarh exam application form and print it in A4 size 80 GSM paper (bond paper). Read the RRB Chandigarh exam notification - 01/2008 as given above thoroughly and than fill the form.
The other required forms e.g. Information Sheet, Caste Certificate Forms (SC/ST/OBC) etc. for the RRB exam can be downloaded from this home page of RRB Chandigarh (left bottom) as shown below:
After filling the form properly, it should be sent by ORDINARY POST only along with required enclosures to following address:
Assistant Secretary, Railway Recruitment Board, SCO 34, IIND fLOOR, Madhya Marg, Sector:7-C, Chandigarh-160019.

Your form should reach above address on or before 28–Feb–2009. Application can also be dropped in the Application Box kept in above RRB Chandigarh Office up to 17:30 hours of 28–Feb–2009.
Last date for submission of applications for far-flung areas and abroad is 15–Mar–2009.

RRB Exam selection process:
RRB exams consists of written/online tests, which contains approximately 100 to 150 objective type questions to be answered in about 1½ to 2 hours.

The RRB written/online tests includes questions pertaining to General Knowledge, General English / General Hindi, General Arithmetic, Analytical and Quantitative Skills and those subjects covered as part of minimum educational/technical qualifications for the post. The question paper is bilingual i.e., in English and Hindi.
There is negative marking and for each wrong answer, 1/3rd of the mark allotted for that question is deducted.
In addition to the written test(s), interview/skill test is conducted as deemed fit by Railway Recruitment Board.

After you are qualified, you need to undergo Medical Fitness Test and also your educational and community certificate etc. would be verified.
